SDT Loader question

[ModGuy]

I feel so stupid for missing such an obvious bug.

You should have left your post making gollum the scapegoat. Then it's all his fault.

didn't get those bugs when I tested it.
tested static hair, swf hair, built in clothes and custom clothes. not once did it not load or screw up.

Don't worry about missing bugs, or not fully testing something. This is why I actually read comments.

New version released, bugfix really.

I don't, I know how these things go in development...
To be honest I was a bit shocked that I was the only tester...

Heh, I was just kidding there. I didn't think anyone would take my comment seriously.

Thanks for the quick release. I've been kind of busy lately so I never even got around to unzipping the last version lol.

Hm, I'm getting a couple instances of code.txt apparently not loading, and bg.png definitely not loading. If I set loadCodeLast=0, then code.txt does load, but obviously gets overridden by embedded code. I've attached the relevant folders.

It's not loading correctly in both cases.
In the Blindfold character, you've added a blank line to Mods.txt which breaks the algorithm.
I should probably fix that but this was an error in your case.

In the other character you've specified a non-existent mod which obviously fails to load.

EDIT:

Algo now supports blank lines in the file, hopefully.
Expect in next release.

Curse you, whitespace!

Thanks, ModGuy.

[danx12]

I had that problem with the BG and code not loading but i ended up fixing it myself though i didn't understand why i was getting it. My mods.txt was like this
mod.swf
mod.swf
mod.swf
(example)

Doe that count as a blank line? i did this with one folder with mod manager it failed. so i did everything manual and it worked fine. Anyways it's fine now just thought i would share.

[Mak]

You kick ass ModPierogi. Separate mods are loading on to characters perfectly. BGs are loading every time. All except one character I was having issues with are working perfectly now.

I haven't played around with the packager yet.

Unfortunately I did come across a bug that I don't even really know how to explain. I can't reproduce it (other than giving you the ones I couldn't fix,) and the characters it was happening to that I was able to fix, I couldn't re-break them by changing the settings back to the way they were when broken. I'm only unable to fix 3 of them, included in the following link with the best description I could give in the notes.txt.

link removed

Edit: I forgot to mention in the notes that I did check to make sure the swfs weren't corrupted. They load fine through the modding tab.

Edit2: Thanks a ton for the shoulder mask toggle, works like a charm.

All except one character I was having issues with are working perfectly now.

The files aren't correctly set up here.
SWF.txt is no longer needed, place all mods in Mods.txt
The files Mod.swf and Char.swf are automatically loaded, placing them in a text file will cause them to load twice, potentially causing these errors.
Either rename the files to something else and add then to the Mods.txt, or remove the extra entry from Mods.txt

Thank you ModGuy I have been waiting for this answer for awhile now :D. I sent you a pm about this but I guess it didn't go through.

So it was just me screwing up, sorry about that. :-[ Thanks for the help. I got Abby fixed too, changed one mod to Char.swf, one to Mod.swf, and left the last one in Mods.txt. Also noticed I had forgotten to remove the collar line in her code which was unloading the spiked collar. Thanks again.

Don't know if this is the right place for it so I apologize in advance if its not. Just had to stop in and share my appreciation of all your hard work on the loader, (without which this game wouldn't be nearly as fun) your many mods and your continued effort to keep things available to everyone.
Thank you your Epicness.

Definitely the wrong section... belongs in the Modguy's E-peen section.

[ModGuy]

And there was me thinking someone had found a new bug. Relief.

Cheers for the appreciation, although you really don't have to say anything.
As for an ego boost, that's what the Applaud button is for.

[somedude]

So, where do I download the loader?
I get, that the password for the imports forum is "******" and I still don't see a download link.

[gollum]

it seems like imghunt is having problems and with the image not loading, the link never shows up.

so here you go: link

@modSalami:
in case you don't want the link to be spread (for whatever reason) please say so and I'll remove it again (or you remove it yourself, using your awesome moderator-powers of awesome)

Lol so hard at the 4chan spoiler.

Lol so hard at the 4chan spoiler.

Somehow, that reminds me the ending credits of z0ne's Wakfu flash... Although many of those 4Chan comments comes from a single -mad- person.

1st of all, thanks for the Loader.

Now to subject matter. Moving from v4.9x to v5.0x is really a pain. With v5.0a I have to manually re-edit all the character mods I have, cos the hair and background won't load. I have to manually add them to the corresponding code.txt. However, at least v5.0a is rather "blank line proof".

With v5.0b I have to re-edit all of them again, removing all changes for v5.0a. What surprise me is v5.0b is much more "blank line prone" than any of the previous versions. All txt files, except for Dialogue.txt, cannot have any blank lines or it'll break the chain. In my experience, previous versions, barring v5.0a which are "blank line proof", only mod.txt have to be "blank line free".

What's more, in v5.0b the order of mods listed in mods.txt also matter, which are not in any previous versions. Any mods which are original/official version compatible cannot be at the last line of mods.txt, or again the loading chain is broken. A safe bet is moving them to be the 1st listed in mods.txt.

I really hope that if this is a bug, it'll be fixed in the next iteration. If it's not, or cannot be fixed cos Flash scripting limitation, at least mention them somewhere in the included guide.

BTW, don't know if it's intentional, but loadCodeLast is set to 1 at default in v5.0b, which raises a whole lot different mess. Add the blank lines trouble to it, I've spent hours scratching my head what went wrong, cos the guide, apart from telling what loadCodeLast is, doesn't help at all.

[ModGuy]

Cheers for the investigatory work but it would help a lot more if you uploaded your folder somewhere with a description of the what's going wrong and where.
