I have enjoyed the game for nearly a year now but id really like to not have the borders on the side if possible.

Yes you can remove the borders, but only if your using ModGuy's SDT Loader version. To do this open up the settings.txt file and look for bordersEnabled=1 change it to bordersEnabled=0 save and enjoy :)
