In 1.8, you go to modding and look for Custom Dialogue. It'll say 'Default' in the blank, sort of greyed out. Save it anywhere on your computer as a .txt file and open it for easy perusal, and it will be a nice, clear portrayal of the dialogue system. Of course, it was a massive jumble for me, but when sorted out, it looks like this:

i still dont get how it works? how do you get her to say things and when does she start? most of the time she says nothing unless i choke her. is she supposed to say somthing before i start? are all the sayings just random? what does it mean by first throat? resistance? pull back? i pull her off but she still says nothing. And yes dialoge is ON in the menu. is this the norm? i relly want to kno. :(
