Character mod which only has a single .swf file (1 Viewer)

I downloaded this Succubus chick from the downloads section but unlike other characters I've gotten this one only has a single 'Succubus.swf' file and when I tried importing it using the import swf button it appears to not load successfully.

Just for future reference: it's a good idea to include a link. Occasionally there will be multiple versions of a file (or even versions drawn by different artists) which can cause a lot of confusion.

That particular file is tagged with <sdt loader> which means that it isn't usable in the vanilla SDT game. If you're currently using the vanilla game then you should stick with files marked <vanilla>.

If you switch to the SDT Loader (or download a Loader pack such as the one prepared by sby) then you'll be able to use both vanilla imports and Loader mods.

SDT modding began many years ago before the tools were fully mature. The Succubus mod was created using old techniques and it exhibits some compatibility errors when used in the current version of the game.

A request has recently been made to update the Succubus mod. Since you've already downloaded that mod, you'll automatically be notified when an update becomes available. So please feel free to explore other mods in the meantime.

This is an older pattern. Modders in the early days tended to release their work in large bundles, so that a user could load a single SWF file and get a "complete package" (hairstyle, clothing, body mods, background, etc).

If you're annoyed by such packs and you'd prefer to mix-and-match things on a smaller scale, then you should check out the moreClothing mod (created by @sby). It allows you to "chop up" a large SWF file and apply its pieces individually: in the case of the Succubus mod, this might mean using the tail and wings while discarding the corset. If you download sby's Loader pack then you'll find that it already includes a working copy of the moreClothing mod; no assembly required.

Thank you this is quite useful! Sorry for not being more descriptive, I already am using the Loader in fact since I've downloaded some characters that require it. I'm also using animtools, is there any thread/part of the forum dedicated to animtools? I can't seem to find someplace for it, I've encountered a few problems with it as I've shown here Some bugs on animtools

There's a thread for animtools positions, which you've probably already visited. Please note that the files found near the beginning of that thread are less reliable; they were created using an older version of the tool and may not be fully compatible with the latest mod. For best results, you should start on the most recent page of the thread and then work your way backwards.

It's fine to create a new Help thread when you run into difficulty. If it's a duplicate issue then we'll merge your thread into an existing one. We generally prefer to have a large number of short threads instead of a few "megathreads", because the latter can't take full advantage of the website features (such as tagging and notification).

Of course, it's still a good idea to Search before posting a new thread. You might be able to find a thread which discusses your problem and (more to the point) already provides a workaround or solution.
