There's a new Double Dragon Revive video featuring all the bosses. We already knew about Anh and Minh which they now spelled them as Ahn and Mihn. Linda now joins the team, but I'm paying heavy attention to the female grunt at 0:57 with the red pants. I'm curious to see how she fights. The same lady appears again at 1:48 with black pants, but she's just getting up off the floor.

Indeed. Although in the spritesheet folder there is a customer_girl.xnb.deploy file, I wonder if it could be extracted.

Sorry for the ghost posting but I managed to extract the zako sprites from Lets' Get Fiscal (the free build that was available in Baller Industries' website)

Turns out they were XNB files, similar to files in games like Stardew Valley
Also Kiki is very hot!

I'd never heard of this before! Looks like there's lots of generic zako types in there. This is a whole new area to explore!

Eight Dragons is a brawler on Steam which appears to be heavily inspired by Target: Renegade. Female enemies include a lady wearing a two-piece dress and black boots, a lady wearing a one-piece dress and black heels, and a bigger lady wearing a red camisole, blue jeans, and black boots. Does every new brawler have to look like the 80s or 90s?

Looks like a sequel is coming out this year with prostitute enemies: . I never played the original. It has a demo on Steam, but if it's like the YouTube video, there are only male enemies in it.

Rushing Beat X demo appeared on Steam and then vanished. The demo only has one female enemy which is a sub-boss at 26:26

Dropping an action game demo with zombie enemies that behave like, well, literal zombies, shambling around and never actually attacking, was certainly a choice.

A lot of guys think a good fighting system consists of how well you can keep punching people while they can't fight back, while to me the most important part of an action game, even IF I'm not lookin' at them with lewd eyes... is the enemies. They have to be interesting

yeah it's the reason streets of rage 4 was so good. you got to be flashy as fuck but the enemies were extremely threatening, at least before they toned it down a lot. the beat em up trend (openbor games especially) where you just fight screens of 15 sandbags at a time is mind numbingly boring.

I don't even care if they're dangerous! They just need to be interesting. If you're gonna make punching bags, make them INTERESTING in the way they take damage and react to it!

Nowadays, many games choose to add playable characters to change the gameplay, which is actually a very lazy approach. For example, in the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Double Dragon games, their DLCs repeatedly add challenge modes and playable characters without considering designing several new enemies. Therefore, it's reasonable that games like Elden Ring and Black Myth: Wukong sell well. Although I'm tired of Souls-like games, their DLCs focus on adding new enemies and new scenes instead of playable characters.

I have the original Eight Dragons on Steam, it definitely has female enemies - actually the same ones as shown in the video you showed. There are various palette swaps of the different variants, the game’s sprites are all based on those from Target Renegade on the Zx Spectrum (I know it well, and still have a fixation with the hooker gang from that game). Funnily enough, although the Eight Dragons sprites are based on those hookers, albeit with a better color palette, they still decided to make the outfits less revealing with longer skirts and less skin on show :( Still I’ll be interested to see if there are any new zako in the sequel.
