I loaded in a Corrin hair file, and when I took it out it replaced everyone's hair into some form of grayscale. How can I fix this?

Please try to be more cooperative when asking for Help. Explain what you've done step-by-step. If possible, provide hyperlinks to the specific mod files that you've used. Describe any attempts that you've made to resolve the problem, and any progress (or additional complications) which arose as a result. Include screenshots if possible.

Please understand that your Help thread isn't all about you. We're aiming to fix your problem, of course, but we want to do so in a way which also provides value to future players. In some cases, this means fixing bugs and releasing improved versions of mod files. In other cases, the thread will simply be left intact as a complete "Question and Answer" document.

In order for the Help thread to be useful as a "bug report" or as a reference document, it must include an effective description of the problem. If the thread includes suitable keywords (e.g. "grey", "monochrome", "hair", "faded") then it will be more easily discovered by a future user who encounters a similar problem. If the thread's title or premise are misleading (e.g. "Modding>SWF mod doesn't work?") then future users are more likely to overlook it and gain no value from it.

The most likely explanation is a loss of Saturation.

The hair file presumably included (or was accompanied by) a configuration string for the character, which we abbrevative as "charCode". The charCode altered the Hue-Saturation-Luminance-Chrominance (HSLC) sliders for the girl's hair.

The simplest fix is to revert the Hair HSLC sliders to their default values, by clicking the small X button.

Click to embiggen

You can also click the large Reset button on the Scene tab. This is a more aggressive operation; it will discard all custom elements in the scene (such as dialogue changes and animtools positioning). Therefore you should try the HSLC reset first, but you can remember the global Reset as a good "please make things normal instead of shitty" button.

----------------------

Minor concern: the Corrin hairstyle doesn't actually touch the hair HSLC sliders. Therefore we can't conclusively identify it as the culprit, and it's possible that the problem is something else entirely. Your problem might suddenly recur when you activate some other mod (e.g. a pair of sandals) which contains the inappropriate charCode data. You now know how to fix the problem, but it'll still be somewhat annoying to apply the fix each time.

We can't make any general "fixes" to the website (e.g. clarifying the FAQ docs, or patching a badly-configured mod) because you haven't provided enough information.
