Sometimes you are able to toggle certain parts of an outfit by shift-clicking them but it doesn't always work. If you know which artist did the mod and he is active on this forum you could try and ask for a hair only version.
yes, it can select to use things by their modtype. next version i need to upload will also allow choosing to not include specific pieces of the modtypes made of various symbols
