Welcome to my background thread!​

My classic static PNG backgrounds are available in my archive on MEGA and on the resource manager: 814 Backgrounds.
The SWF backgrounds are presented here and are hosted on the resource manager.

Each static (PNG) background is sized 700 × 825 pixels, some animated and 16:9 (SWF) backgrounds may have different heights and widths. All have been cropped and resized to give a realistic perspective. Unfortunately, the resizing make some of them look quite blurry, and some may also seem to have strange proportions.

The backgrounds are categorised into separate posts for an easy search:

• Animated backgrounds
• HD animated backgrounds
• HD & XL backgrounds
• Classic 7:6 / 700 × 825 px PNG backgrounds (on Mega.nz or the resource manager: 814 Backgrounds)

Note on background numbering : backgrounds of the same theme have numbers (e.g. 'Bedroom 04'), but there are different kinds of backgrounds, and the same number for the same theme may not represent the same image (e.g. static PNG 'Background - Bedroom 04' may not be the same as 'Animated Background - Bedroom 04' or 'HD Background - Bedroom 04').

Anyhow, numbers are shared in the 16:9 backgrounds (e.g. 'HD Background - Bedroom 04', '2XL Background - Bedroom 04', 'HD Animated Background - Bedroom 04', etc. feature the same bedroom, possibly with different points of view).

Please keep in mind that I did all these backgrounds, but not the images.
This means that I selected, cropped and resized images, or decompiled SWFs that were made by others.
Some original works may have licences that do not legally allow reusing them commercially (or even not at all).
I consider these backgrounds are a fair use of the original artworks and can be used and reused by anyone, but remember that I am not the author nor the copyright owner of these images, so I cannot allow their commercial use for example.

If you are the author or the copyright holder of one or several of the artworks used, and do not want them to be used as SDT backgrounds, or want to be credited for your work, please contact me.

HD & XL Backgrounds

These backgrounds need to be downloaded from the Resource Manager (links above the examples).

The HD backgrounds have 16/9 proportions, while the XL backgrounds are a new kind of 16/9 backgrounds where you can change the position and possibly the scene using the arrow keys.
The number in front of HD or XL represents the number of scenes (eg. the "4XL Bedroom 03" has 4 different times of the day for the same bedroom).

Again nice backgrounds and you were right about what you told me via karma message earlier... Though I do recommend some spoiler tags or reducing the amount of pics displayed. There are quite a lot here.

These are great, thanks! Very well proportioned (and the links are easy to download from too!)

If you are looking for additional ones, to make, then one showing the red to the right of "Bedroom (2) " or one showing the bed to the left of "Bedroom (20)" would be good - if they work out.

Thank you, my template to make background is really a good tool for this, I could make 124 backgrounds and their examples in only... 4 hours. ;D

If i recall good, the bed of "bedroom (20) was problematic with the perspective, that's why I let only the right end part.
I made the most that I could with skullhammer's images. More points of view are of course possible, but I don't think it would bring something really better.

Thank you, but as i said to MG on my import thread, I don't really like spoilers because they hide things from the forum's search engine, and also from the web browser's search engine.
Here, if for example you are looking for a bedroom or a kitchen, you just have to press CTRL+F and type "bedroom" or "kitchen", and then choose one.
I have put a list in a spoiler in the top post, but as for hair mods, I don't think that only words will make one love an image or not, it is always better to see the things.

I decided to add some new backgrounds and I got carried away and made five hundred new ones...

I added them to the other ones and I also put everything in spoilers and removed the images showing the display in SDT, because there was really too many images on this page.
Just remember that you'll see the bottom of the background if the game is zoomed out and its top if zoomed in.

EDIT: I am currently optimizing the size of all my backgrounds, reducing their file size about 40 to 70%. The new version should be available tomorrow, along with an archive regrouping them all.
EDIT 2: All the backgrounds have been optimized and there's an archive in the first post.

I (finally) made my first animated background!

Size is 700x600 px [updated to 1166 × 600 px], so zooming is not possible. I had to add a little part in the bottom to get the right size and the image is a little blurred, but the proportions are quite good and the result is not so bad:

It is quite difficult to make good animated backgrounds from GIFs, because most images of this format have usually a low definition, and most of the time, making a background needs to zoom in the image.
Also, making some from animated movies can seem easier, but it is not: one have to watch all the movie, and finding a scene suitable for a SDT background that can be looped is really unusual.
I will try to make montages with an animated image on a TV or a movie screen, but finding a good base image is quite hard.

It is a 20mn video: Nana's Daily Work (ナナの日常). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to exist a version without the lighting/blur at the top of the screen, even the original video seems to have this.

You're welcome. I am quite happy with this tool I made that allows to make nice backgrounds quickly.

This work is more complicated than I thought and I really do not like what I am doing with these sandals. Also, I do not want to produce a scruffy thing for my first costume mod... It could be ready in the next days (or weeks), depending on my inclination to finish it.

I edited some of them, adding parts missing like the two bottom rows of parquet planks on the Immoral Sisters one, the right and bottom sides of the Kim Possible and Sam ones and the right and left sides of the Teen Titans one.
I have also entirely redrawn some that had characters in the way in them, like both of the Hypnotoad ones.
Other animations could be put on the TV scr-ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!
