if you watch the anime it really isnt :d got previous pokemon requests with references from the anime and they are mostly perfect!

Its not very good, but I found a rough Team Magma side view. Can't see her eyes, but it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Not bad, but this can use some work.
For instance, her ear isn't supposed to be visible.
The red and grey bang should be under the bang that's covering her ear her ear and not over it.
Her forhead is also too exposed, you should lower the whole haircut. Doing that will also solve the problem of this bald spot.

I think you tried to follow the second reference picture too closely without checking the others.

Thanks for the critique. While I do disagree, I appreciate your taking the time to look so carefully at my stuff.

The hair uncovering the ear was intentional, though perhaps wrong.

I was attempting to compensate for the different angles to the head in SD and the reference pictures. I assume the hair is not stiff, but rather hangs mostly straight down from the head. If you tilt the template, as I do in the attached image, so it matches the reference, and drop a line from where I assume the red and grey bangs attach to the head, it would cover the ears like the green line in the picture. So that's why I did that.

I am not sure what you mean about the bangs. It looks to me in the reference pics that the red and grey bang is over the rest of the hair, not under the forehead bangs. Maybe I misunderstand what you are saying?

The forehead does seem a tad high, its hard to judge given the different shape of the head between SD and pokemon. That part of the hair does have the correct shape, as it was traced directly from the reference, but it is possible that the scale is a bit off.

It's fairly obvious that the big bang (no pun intended) on the left side of her face is above the red and grey one.
From there it seems impossible for the right one to be under the right red and grey bang.
Following that logic, the red and grey bang starts under the smaller grey one, and thus cover the ear.
