Yeah but now you'd have to do more work for the thing only I want and no one else does!

I don't recognize the archvile... is that in the middle aged voices somewhere?

It's not that bad, I only need to redo the flinch and death animations, the others I can reuse from the normal version.

Good catch! It's from the Middle Aged, White female No. 3 set.

Hi Folks,

I've updated to the release version :D

Thanks to Hentai_Master_Hand_44 I could replace the "active" sounds of the monsters (the growling or panting sounds when a monster is seeking the player are now replaced with female panting/breathing)

I've changed/edited the end of chapter pics for the release version. The shores of hell sure look different now :P

And for a different taste, the bloodless version :)

Have played a bit and with the breathing sounds its very nice now. However I would suggest to tune them down in volume by 30%-40% that would be perfect I guess, just my 2ct.

And I'd like to request if its possible to also replace the pinky bite sound the "roar" one with "breath_19" or "breath_17" from the package I've sent you those should match the volume output from the default pinky sound since I bet the ones I gave you are not loud enough, you can adjust of course.

Thats odd, I found the normal breathing sounds rather faint and to low, even on headphones.

Lets see what else comes up for a version 1.1.

Yeah, they seemed quiet for me too. I'm not running anything, just the regular doom or doom 2. Then again, I really like breath sounds so maybe I just want them louder cause of that.

Thanks for all your hard work and everyone contributing! The sprites for different angles of rotation are something I didn't think was possible but add so much! The clothing damage and posing are superb. I totally agree with the aftermath being important.

I can't help but be intrigued by the voice discussion, I've tried over the years to extract SR3 and SR4 voice files with little success.
Would anyone be willing to give me a few pointers, I've voice files from other games if anyone wants to trade

Happy you like it :)

The process is a bit clunky, but doable if you're not afraid of the command line or some batch writing.

Here is a good overview:
[Guide] How to extract radio station musics from Saints Row The Third – ~Zero WordPress
Their focus is on the radiostation music, but the speech samples work the same, just use the "voices" pack instead of the sound pack.

- Download the tools listed
- copy your voice file to somewhere else. For convenience a folder with a short path.
- drag & drop your voice file on the bnk_pc_extractor. This will pull out all files in the pack. (several hundred thousands!)
- now you should have .wav files, but they need further processing to become usable.
- ww2ogg.exe and revorb.exe strip the metadata (sub titles, timings, etc) from the .wav and generates an usable .ogg file.
To do this for all files, create an .bat file in the folder with the samples:
for %%a in (*.WAV) do ww2ogg.exe "%%a"
for %%a in (*.OGG) do revorb.exe "%%a"
del *.dmav

This mass converts the files and deletes the metadata textfiles. This whole converting can take some time.

Excellent work, all around. The sound replacements are great so far and the models have a lot of work and detail put into them (+ I'm a sucker for this sort of aesthetic, even more so on elves).

Keep up the great work!

Hi All,

I've started to read into ZDoom scripting, thankfully there is a nice wiki and different video tutorials :)
Nothing much to show yet for my first scripting steps besides a design document with a few ideas.

I'll start a new thread when I have some scripting success and something to show ;)

As mentioned I started working on a follow up mod.
Well, it's not much yet, but here is a draft for the "costumes" for enemies:
Draft_Cast.jpg
General Idea is that you board enemy space ships and have to fight the crew and soldier complement.
(similar to what "Marine" meant yonks ago).
The blue-ish gals are artifical bio-engineered servants/soldiers.

Not much of a story, more like context:
Something Someting..far future…
Humanity divided in male & female...waging all out war.
Terrible losses on both sides...but female side has more reproduction capabilities…
Males must rely on artificial reproduction...males are outnumbered at least 200 to 1.
Males invest strongly in genetic engineering...designing specialised workers, scientists, soldiers…
War tactics changed for males...trading blows in space or any long ranged engangement is no longer sustainable with casualty numbers...new approach is to close distance as quickly as possible and force a physical close quarter fight….playing into physical strengths of males.
New approach is promising...females try to counter with own genetic engineering…
but not the same success and „the created“ are considered servitors and cannon fodder…not allowed in all jobs

Or something like that, erm, you don‘t really need a reason to blast everything in sight...

A scripting testbed with placeholder sprites. Fire it up with Doom II
Only new sprites are weapon projectiles ("Needler", "Blaster" and "Mini rocket")

here are my design notes, everything very much subject to change :D
Let me know what you think :) Ideas are welcome (but my skills may not be strong enough :D )

I really like the designs, and the story don't matter.

The hitscan replacement is really smart. Hitscans made the possessed replacements really unfun to encounter, which is a bummer cause they were among my favorite character designs.
