This is gonna be long, so bare with me here...
I've been here since Ryonani was in it's infancy so I think I got something to chime in on about this. For me while I still enjoy doing ryona privately in any given game, searching for ryona content has gotten very stale and samey lately. I can definitely confirm on the whole bot-reposting because I've even seen some of MY videos reposted (some that weren't even aimed for ryona at that) under the ryona bot tag, and somehow in bad video quality and cropping compared to my originals. Even if you weave through that, I see ryona videos from the same few games that I already own... which unfortunately don't update their hurt/KO animations like that anymore (I don't mind Tekken as much, but all the excessive low-quality DOA5 ryona videos nearly make me almost not want to bother with DOA5 anymore personally. It's a big 'seen one of them, seen them all' thing going on, and it's already bad enough that I always felt like DOA2U & DOA4 were 'sexier' somehow despite the improvements to the camera and massive increase in lady costumes [that last one isn't a bad thing btw...] I do know that somehow they took OUT certain hit animations from 4 to 5, so that may have something to do with it... Street Fighter 5 COULD'VE worked for me since they put a lot of effort into the hit animations from their work in SF4 and SFxT and they gave me Karin and a rather sexy Chun-Li and Cammy (Ibuki is sorta butterface...), but unfortunately the game itself is pure shit to actively play (on top of it's business angle); pissed me off so much it killed that ryona angle real quick for me, too.
I play KOF14 like crazy to this day, though. It uses a new 3D engine, has a load of girls and a lot of attacks to pull off on them and decent animation for being the victim, but outside of one video highlighting the girls' stun animations I got put off from doing a detailed video because nearly immediately after launch I had others already getting up standard ryona videos up on the girls I like 'you-know, doing Clark's movelist on all the girls, Athena Asamiya being beaten up by the whole roster, Mai getting dominated by men, et cetera...) and I'm like "That's nice... but I can already do that on my own in private..." since most don't do extra editing and just do the moves, put them together and call it a day. Gone are the times where you'd actually get like edited gasps and moans put in, just the RIGHT amount of effects like zoom and slow-motion to draw out the girl's ryona situation and weakness, editing the clips so that it seems like the attacks flow into one another without making it look like a random 'compilation' like most videos do now; the stuff that usually makes those 'old-school' ryona videos so special compared to now.
I did a couple of in detail ryona videos in the past and I do have to say that it does take quite a bit of time and energy to make a great ryona video for people to watch. The last one I really put effort in was a Tekken 6 Lili getting the business from a Mokujin that was about 14 minutes long or something like that, but I remember having to edit through 3 hours of footage to get that together, and it took almost 2 weeks... for one video. I haven't got that kind of time to edit through a whole lot of footage to piece together a great 'script' anymore, so I assume a lot of other people that did even greater vids have that issue as well. I know for me I can at LEAST record my escapades in fighting games and enjoy my girl characters (or my rivals' girls) getting beat up over the course of the bout or knocking each other out just the same; feels more 'natural' to me sometimes than just a regular standard ryona vid where one side just plays victim, but I've also noticed a slight trend of 'certain' people putting up 'ryona' videos that aren't even ryona videos; no girl being abused and just doing something sexy or silly (again, mostly seen this with DOA5... even people putting the ryona tag under footage for DOAX3... which doesn't HAVE any ryona in it; it's just a beach pandering game). So, on top of YT bots and really stifling videos that don't even have much, if at all, ryona in it; you can see why being a watcher isn't as good now as it was in years past.
Yet another detractor is with the games themselves now; even if you get that new game that may have potential; many times over than not you'll realize the gamemakers just didn't put in a lot of effort into the characters (mainly the heroine) getting hurt and (ESPECIALLY) defeated. On the smaller side of the scale, perhaps the game is fun and people just wanna enjoy it normally. I have NieR: Automata; love the game to death for it's gameplay and atmosphere, and this is coming from a person whose main field is fighting games; but 2B and A2 (the two playable girl androids) do have the ability to get easily reeled off balance and thrown around by even the smallest of mooks if you don't have anti-stagger chips on; even slammed against walls and whatnot and suffer clothing damage. The problem in that game however, is that if they're killed, you can't enjoy it; the screen goes monochrome instantly and while you can sorta seen a nice ragdoll death and the girl's gasping 'last words', it's nearly instantly covered up with a 'android Black Screen of Death static screen' and cuts to black; boom, loading next checkpoint (and your replacement body... which is funny, that game basically makes dying inconsequential in the long run...outside of possibly losing your good chip layouts if you die too often without recording your old dead body first). Would've been REAL nice if you could survey them while they're defeated and THEN go to an option menu and reload when you're ready, but they put such an emphasis on getting back up on your feet and getting back in the action; something almost every dev nowadays seems to favor, unfortunately, they don't even have good regular hit animations like Automata does to go on top of that, so that's yet another put off.
As for the forum, looking back at what I posted could give a very good idea at least on the video-game side of things (where most of us are most used to seeing ryona here) why things have grinded to a halt here. There's simply nothing new worth a damn. I still post a little bit here and there but things just haven't keep up over the years in this fetish and have actually seen an overall decline. I haven't even gotten into 'real-life' ryona publications like our wrestling and superheroine vids and whatnot... but I know for me I'm even more picky when it comes to that and even back in the day I rarely could find something that captured my tastes, let alone now (being a fan of back-and-forth battles between two girls and double KOs sucks...) but even when I dip down to what may be 'standard' videos I wind up being disappointed a lot more now; fetish wrestling/battle vids with bad camera work and/or having too many holds kill my mood REAL quick, or girls that (no offense) COULD look better for the camera but instead just look off putting also don't sit too well for me. I used to mainly watch the zako/female on female wrestling or boxing/superheroine videos the Japanese/Asians put out but even then I admit I haven't done that in a long time since my hook-up was various forums that I dropped out of the loop on, and even if I WANTED to buy it straight up from the official production sites a lot of those Japanese websites don't have American-friendly purchase or supply options... ("....Seriously? We new age, 2017, now where you can just download a mp4 or wmv straight from a website... and you guys STILL just wanna ship a physical DVD or a tape to me so you can bloat up my shipping fee on top of overbuying via currency conversion? No, thanks, bye now.")
So, ultimately, actually searching for content has been a big wash nowadays. I just now do it on my own time in private since I know what I like (I can admit I'm sorta the oddball here when it comes to ryona, even among most of you all), or get with my girlfriend and we can enjoy beating up on our respective favorite characters for a while, but that's the long story of what I think is the deal here with our fetish.
