I'm running the latest version of MAME. It keeps telling me I'm missing a ROM or CHD image. I'm positive I have every BIOS file they've ever made for MAME, so that can't be the issue. Maybe I just have bad files or something.

And that Fatal Fight game reminds me of Strip Fighter IV with its art style. There's some nice, busty ladies in there. ;)

Cool zako related things I've found out in Dynamite Deka PS2 (also applies to the Saturn version I think) in random order

- Playing two player doesn't add much zako-fun compared to one player, until near the end. The level with the cart of gold and cash in the corridor - two of the Isabel zakos will arrive. They absolutely love going for the pistols and especially two switchblades near the door (which seem to be exclusively for them or you to use). When with the knife her behaviour will change a lot, with a new move set. If she scores a particually nasty stab or combo, or floors you, she'll pose and shout/scream "yeah!" in a coquettish tone. Very nice stuff. I assume they'd go for the rocket launcher but I haven't had a chance to let them yet.

- The zako will mock and laugh as you fight the other enemies around them, if they are far away enough to do so without much threat to themselves. I noticed this at the lobby fountain area, when I was fighting a guy on the floor she backed off tactically, then laughed and 'ushered' me towards her, with her left hand on her hip and right clawed hand stroking towards the hero.

- The zako (and quite a few other enemies) are able to break your hold if you miss any punches or thrusts when prone over them and they have no life bar - The zako will roll you and deal a lot of potential damage or push you up away from them with their knees or chest. I noticed this regeneration with the golden dressed, clawed Isabel zako when I missed a punch and she rolled the hero, revealing her lacy red panties as she scratched and clawed the heros face 5 or 6 times. She then got up and laughed (of course), regenerated and victorious and the hero died. (until the next credit) - I could think of worse ways to go. <3

I'm sure there's more. :)

I take it you like that gesture&laughter then. I find it irritating myself :-P

It took me a while to decypher what you meant with this paragraph, but now I realise you're talking about what happens after you grab a zako, kick her twice and sit on her stomach. They sometimes counter you from that position, usually with a headbutt but sometimes with a straight kick too. I never noticed that when their health is low they can actually roll you over, but the kick was that even if your first punch completely depletes her health, she can STILL counter one of your next punches (despite being technically dead) ,roll you over and punch you to oblivion, and then they stand up having regenerated a bit of health. That was truly amazing, thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Since it's made by the same group (Studio S), it should come as no surprise the art style is the same. In fact, the art style is the same in pretty much all of their games.

Fatal Fight is apprently a game designed for the iPhone, although they are also releasing a PC version sometime next month (if my rusty Japanese reads the website correctly). I'm guessing the iPhone version will be much tamer than their usual stuff (which often features rather violent ryona, torture, and/or rape). I'm not so sure about the PC version, though.

Oh yes! I'd go as far as to say both are near perfect, especially in the game's context. My only complaint is there aren't more, but it is an old game. When you say irritating do you mean irritating as in it makes you want to get up and hurt them and feel frustrated (this is the intention, right?) or just not to your taste generally?

I know, I was quite delighted to discover this too. It was accidental - Even if the first kick kills her (the life bar will be depleted and her avatar and bar will flash), and she is kicked again and then pushed to the floor, and punched up to three times (i think it's three) she can easily counter, or counter and roll you and deal a huge amount of damage. She also has the privilege of regaining health and being able to deal further damage through a grab or combo against an unexperienced player especially. It's great because I bet in the arcades there have been many times one of them has countered like this and killed the player, either through surprise or lack of response - which is just zako-heaven.

One thing I prefer about the Saturn version is the zako's icons by their life bar. The clawed fountain zako in particular has an awfully slutty and appealing icon. Haha.

Here's an interesting one, had any 'surprise' Zako encounters since discovering your admiration for Zako? Where you weren't playing games hoping or expecting to find them.

1.Zako in God Hand (PS2).

2.Amazon in Dungeon Magic/Lightbringer (Arcade). They can do dagger slash, kick, jump kick and backflip. None of those moves are special though. However, they got a good design that made me want to play with their sprites XD

^ She's a cutie! Loving those sprites.. Nice zako, will have to check the game out.

Just to keep this thread alive, and to bore everyone.. here are some updated screenshots of my APB Isabel (dynamite deka zako) inspired character. I'm happy admitting I've spent a long time looking at references from the Saturn and PS2 remake to get her as close as I can.. Whilst having to add details to the character..

One of my favorite zako, mosu ninja, appear again in Shinobido2 of PSPVita.
Although the price is high now, I still want to buy it. However, the Japanese reviews said the game is very short (around 15 minutes if you are skilled enough :slow:)
My good friend suggested me to look at its situation, price drop and future game lists before going to purchase one.

Chunin mosu looks sweet anyway :want:

Oh my. The Mosu kunoichi are back? That's great news! Now I have to consider getting a Vita...

Such a shame, though....I'm not a fan of full-face masks on my kunoichi. Would prefer to at least see their eyes.

hey NNin how many variations of the female ninja appear in Shinobido 2?
They are 5, I think. From left to right are San the playable heroine, Nagi the boss's kunoichi, Usuba the Mosu's head, Mosu kunoichi and Chunin Mosu.

Don't worry, PhoDacBiet. Only the elite mosu wears a mask, normal mosu appears in the same costume of Shinobido.

YES. YES.

I haven't been able to find any details on Shinobido 2, but do you know if it features a custom mission editor? In any case, NNin, you've just made a PS Vita sale for Sony (in the future, anyway). :P Glad to see the regular Mosu kunoichi.

been playing some games lately, primarily Kingdoms of Amalur, Shank and Shank 2, these games have female enemies in them. KOA more so than the others, its world is really 50/50. both shank games have specialised female enemies that you cannot hold or gore, and only one counter against them. There is also ryona potential but only on one level [you play shanks girlfriend or something]
