Touhou hair imports (1 Viewer)

I'm a touhoufag so I'd thought I'd make some touhou hair imports of my own.
I'm no artist but the templates were simple enough to use so I just did it the most simple way I could think of which was to just crop out the hair from the character and shape it to fit the template.

My method is simple, go to danbooru and find a decent picture of the character I want in side view or 3/4 view, I find ones where the hair is bright and not too real and not too sketchy. Then I just use the eraser tool and free transform to fit it to the template.

Since there is now a swf import I tried to make something with it. I never used flash before and I downloaded CS5.5 yesterday so this is new to me. Took a bit to understand the instructions provided but after a few hit and misses I made a test collar, and once I figured the steps needed to make one I won't be stumbling around it anymore.
Well I didn't make a collar but I used it since it was the only template that wasn't connected with the head which meant I could try and make wings and so I did.

Short hair is fairly easy but for long multi part hair it's a pain and is hard to make sure all the pieces look right when it moves, a lot of saving, testing and going back to make small adjustments.

Getting the hang of this dynamic hair stuff but the issue now is that I noticed that the dynamic hair really lags down when the quality is set to highest. I'm gonna assume it does this is due to the fact that I don't actually draw these hair imports and that the ones drawn using vectors will not lag, what I do is I do a trace in flash pro on the png to try and covert it to a vector but it doesn't do it as well as a pure vector drawing.

Your dynamic hairs look really good, Suwako works very well... but same cannot be said about Sakuya which simply does not work and Orin which does load but slows the game down heck of alot. (I have a quite fast computer)
Could you try uploading them again, and before that check that the imports work correctly. I am really looking forward to possibly giving Sakuya a try.

I also took a look at your static imports as well and they are well made, for copy/paste work atleast.

I hope you continue creating more imports, we are really hurting for dynamic hair artists specifically. Excellent job so far. :)

When you download the swfs make sure that you downloaded it all, as in when you finish downloading you have the full file by checking the file size is the correct amount shown. This happened to me a few times and I thought the upload was messed up :P

Yeah I know the slowdown issue, I'm not a flash expert but I think it is the way I make my hairs since I don't draw them myself and instead have to convert them into a vector. It's not as slow when I set to lowest quality for all three of them and I'm using my 5 year old laptop so it's handling it.

Hey if someone is willing to re-draw the imports I make it may solve the slow down issue here.

I re-did the Reimu on my first post, I unified the colours a bit more so when I did a trace it's wouldn't turn out to be super laggy or ugly colour edges.

There is one in the Archive if you need it, I have an older version of the Archive but it should be there in the latest version too.
