Tera Modding Help Pls (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone newbie Tera modder who just got started here.

I've only been messing with the alpha channel in the .DDS files in photoshop using UThelper from AroundGames.org - UtHelper.

My problems for one is that the game doesn't seem to render all of a character's "flesh" texture. So when I add alpha to certain parts of the armor, there's would just be a "gap" in the character.
For example: sample2.png sample1.png

Another question is how do I actually edit the texture of the armor? For example, recolor it or add designs to it? Right now if I try to edit the texture layer of the .DDS file it just shows up ingame as some kind of weird color overlay. What file do I need to edit?

Here's what I see when I load the .GPK using UTHelper:

On the gap problem:
That's just how the model is made. Since those parts are never revealed to the users the artists who made the model remove them to save space.
