Numer of downloads on the RM accurate? (1 Viewer)

Since I have my uploads hosted externally (Mediafire) I can see the number of downloads on each mod. There's a big discrepancy between the number according to Mediafire and the number according to the RM.

I understand that a single user downloading the same file several times registers as one download on the RM and several downloads on Mediafire. This explains some sort of discrepancy, but not what I'm seeing unless Undertow users have strange usage patterns.

For example:
Red Riding Hood Mod Pack: Uploaded less than 24 hrs ago. 64 downloads on the RM, 140 on Mediafire.

Surfer Girl Static Hair RGB adjustable: 93 on RM, 127 on Mediafire.

Bugged?

I don't know if the following is true or not. Perhaps somebody has 'hijacked' the links to your stuff and posted at some other web site(s).
