I leave Strand Shaders disabled as they slow down the framerate too much.
The problem is that when the loader is started with Strand Shaders disabled, the spit strands are opaque, they are white (look like spaghetti) and go translucent after a while.
Toggling the Strand Shaders option fixes this. (good framerate and translucent strands)
This problem is not present when using SDT.swf or SDT_1_21_1b.swf, only Loader.swf.
