Hello,

You can extract or browse the vanilla files with Paz Browser to find out which files are present in-game and can be modified.
If you look at them, you will see some green shapes over yellow background. If you superimpose those patterns over a nude body dds, you can see exactly what the green parts cut. If you dont want anything cut, you just have to turn that green into yellow like the background or save yourself some time and trouble for 99% of the outfits and copy/paste another yellow square dds and rename it appropriately.

I did not find any *0266_ao except for "hair" among the vanilla files I extracted, so you may not be able to patch them in even if you create them for the coco nutty outfit (*00*0266).

I did find 2 for *_00_*_0274->Selaine: pfw_00_ub_0274_ao.dds and psw_00_ub_0274_ao.dds. They are shaped to cut the breasts and bikini bottom.
If you remove the front of that outfit, the character will be wearing the bikini pew_00_ub_0274_01.dds underneath. You may want to edit it as well.

If you like my texture edits, I'll save you some time and give them to you now that I found how to upload files ;-)
Havent touched coco nutty yet so I can only advise you to look for the partcut or use the new partcutgen tool from undercovertpervert that is AMAZING and so much easier than editing the xml!!
On a side note, if you dont remove the top part of the coco nutty outfit, the cuts are needed to prevent the breasts from popping out of the outfit.

Have fun in your modding adventures :)
After many attempts, I found the holes are caused by LB---- pew_00_lb_274 and pfw/psw/pcw_00_lb_266. When I replaced the LB files with dummy files, the holes disappeard. But I haven't figured the reason out. Maybe it's because some textures? Anyway, it's not ao files.

I'll try the new partcutgen tool. Where can i get it and learn to use it? Thanks!
search for partcutgen: https://www.undertow.club/threads/bdo-toolkit-a-net-modding-library-for-black-desert-online.12042/
edit the automatically generated partcutdesc_exclusions.txt (I create a shortcut and rename it with a "_" in front so I dont have to scroll all the way down each time I want to edit it) and add the pac's you DONT want to be cut by the default cuts coded in the outfits. the use of wildcards are just a godsend :) But I couldnt get p*w_*_ub_* to leave ALL upperbodies uncut for some reason.
Still discovering the tool, I'm guessing some outfits have breast cuts in sho or lb like in the case of the coco nutty outfit. I might remake a "light" version of my partcut_exclusions and fiddle with it more. It'll save me from having to track down all the outfit names I'm still missing (which is how I'm ending up editing them as I find their names browsing through the exported vanilla textures :p

Here is an updated __real_names.txt generated by resorepless. I took a copy of the file out to write down the new files as I find them so the syntax may not match the original's (cant just plug it back in the Black Desert Online\Paz\patcher_resources\ folder).

I like to add a comment line (starting with "#") above the file names in partcutexclusions so I can see what outfit is where.

have fun in your modding adventures :)

Hello!
I got a problem with dae and blender. When I ran pac_to_dae, and then ran dae_to_pac directly without modifying, obviously I could got the right original pac file. However, if i imported the dae file into blender and exported even without modifying, the dae_to_pac failed.
I uesd pactool1.4.4 and better collada. I think i didn't choose the right export settings. It seemed there's something was wrong with the bones. Somebody can help me? Thanks a lot!

Good morning,
I havent messed with that program yet. A search for "pactool" will give you some pointers (I think others have had that problem as well) and I think SUZU uploaded a file with bones (https://www.undertow.club/threads/n...acters-in-blackdesertonline.16885/post-253413).

It would be really great if we had a living document that listed the filenames of outfits that we shared. It would certainly speed things up.
Here is an updated __real_names.txt files in which I added the armors' filenames that I've found throughout these forums and looking at the exported vanilla textures. I havent found all of them, I'm hoping you'll keep this file "alive" and add to it as you come accross them ;-)
Since I stopped following the syntax of the original file from resorepless resources, I may rearrange them differently in the future...
Or someone better at using these forums can create a new post to create this living document, which I guess would require editing the first post as ppl input new filenames ? The existing thread from BlackfireBR about filenames is too long and only the original author can edit the first post?

I also attached my partcutdesc_exclusions for those who want to try their hands at partcutGen, super tool that simplifies dealing with the partcutdesc.xml TREMENDOUSLY!! Since I'm still missing some outfit names, there are some "generic" cuts in place (p*w_*_?b_* for instance), those will generate clipping for all ub and lb it's applied to (in this example, all the females except pmyf).

here are some other game textures that can be easilly modified with a texture edit (I cant upload mine since they are using various pictures from the Internet and there is no way that I can remember where I got them from or find their authors to ask permission):
For those who want to change the cardback of that cardgame (?Yar?), you can modify Black Desert Online\Paz\Files_to_patch\ui_texture\ui_artwork\card\card_back_bg.dds
worker icons are in : Black Desert Online\Paz\Files_to_patch\ui_texture\new_ui_common_forlua\widget\worldmap\workericon\
and in the worldmap folder just above workericon, you can change the icon for tha kalk (worldmap_calc_navi_icon.dds), griffon (worldmap_griffon_icon.dds) and bandits (worldmap_plunder_icon.dds)
You can edit some banners in Black Desert Online\Paz\Files_to_patch\ui_texture\new_ui_common_forlua\widget\nakmessage\ to change the pop up for rift boss (autoboss_nak_boss.dds), bell buff (goldenbell.dds), horse damage (horse_warning.dds), entering combat zone (nakbg_combat_01.dds), entering safe zone (nakbg_safety_01.dds), etc.

alcaster4242 modified some NPC icons in \Black Desert Online\Paz\Files_to_patch\ui_texture\ui_artwork:
https://www.undertow.club/threads/alcaster4242-chikan-clothing.9088/post-127402

Little texture editing tips:
Remember to check the dimensions of the image (1 pixel off on height or width and it will be invisible in-game), save in DX1 (without minimaps for those banners I think; with minimaps for outfits. I am guessing that those minimaps are used by the game when viewing them from a distance ?) - you can compare filesize with the vanilla one to see if it's right since minimaps will make the file bigger and DX3 or DX5 will also make the FileSize bigger, wrong dimensions will also change the filesize.
If the vanilla file was in DX1, you can still chose to save in DX3 to preserve the alpha channel (allowing you to undo your texture edits) and as long as the dimensions are the same (check with "image properties" or "scale image"), it should work.
I like to add layers to work on my edits then merge it down onto the vanilla texture. That's where I got most of my mistakes and learned to first click "layer to image size" before merging it down :p

Have fun in your modding adventures :)

Hello,

As Queen said, if you want to really mod your game, you'll have to do "some" reading in these forums. Know that EVERYTHING and every problem you can think of has been encountered and answered within these posts. Learn to become very close friend with that search button :)

For instance, a search for "BDO modding" will get you started by listing a series of posts among wich are several "modding for beginner" types.

If you want the quick and dirty minimal effort modding, go to SUZU's ressources and download her whole "file_to_patch" folder.
It will contain her version of her modded BDO world. Make sure to read up on the tools you'll need to install first as well as their requirements and follow the instructions TO THE LETTER and in the specified order. Then it's 100% guaranteed to work, no hassle, no problem, profit (still some reading involved but that's the bare minimum).

Have fun in your modding adventures :)
