What the hell?? So where does that first version posted in this thread come from??
That's so ridiculous, is it due to censorship and political correctness??
Thanks to everyone who has done the dirty work of uncovering that movie and finding copies.
There must be a truly uncut version in good/decent picture quality out there. Don't give up hope. I'll be on the lookout myself.

It is very strange, why must cut it? Btw, i will trade, if you have SATANIC CRYSTALS MOVIE (1989) UNCUT, i will give you awesome indonesia old movie with female soldiers, how one man be brutal to beat them, It's very rare (also in Indonesia)

The pirated copies have poor quality because they record while the video is playing, it is not a "normal" download of the product.
It is what it is.

It all depends. What you said is an easy way to make copies that anyone could do. There are also people who cracked and remove the DRM on the downloaded version. Actually, according to Giga, the highest quality is from the DVD, which is also easy to make a copy.

In fact this is what also bothers me. Everywhere is making 1080p if not better, and GIga is still staying at DVD quality.

There are many reasons to cut shot a movies. The most likely for this one is that it it in the early VCD era. With the limited capacity and cost was still high to produce VCD, they probably cut it short so it could fit the movie in two standard VCDs.

Other reason is to change to rating of the video, say from PG-13 to PG so it could have a wider audience. Another reason related to rating that is seldom known is that the rating guidelines could be difference between showing in cinema and on home video because it is easy to enforce the restrictions in a cinema but difficult at home. That's why a movie may need to cut out certain scenes when make into home video even the rating did not change.

I think the same. In Japan it is normal to release films on DVD and I would think that such a technological country should release films in 1080p/4k/8k.

I think it is more a Giga issue. If you look at R18, most are available at 1080p and there are also many VR contents.

The name of the series is 醉玲珑 total 56 episode. Those zako in black are from an evil clan, and the death scenes were scattered over different episodes. However, a lot of the fight scenes were performed by male stunts (typical in China).

You can use the Chinese name above to search in YT and could be able to find most of the episodes.
