I make hair imports and am somewhatnot* open to requests. I mostly do /v/ girls, and even more specifically, JRPG type girls. So if you request me something outside of that territory, know that I'm less likely to say yes, but if you ask me to do something on my "interested in" list, I'm more likely to say yes. It's like science.

*See post beginning "Dear all of SDT" at the end of this thread. tl;dr - too busy right now to do anything, sorry

STUFF AND THINGS

  • I also run the IRC channel, which you should be in. irc.esper.net #SDT
  • I also de facto "run" (lol) the /h/ threads, since no one else ever remakes them when they stop bumping
  • I use Photoshop CS4
  • I don't do art nor do I consider myself a good artist. I'm a music person who hasn't taken art seriously since 6 years ago
  • I do go to school, which means I barely have time for one hair import per weekday, and that's not a guarantee. I also do a lot of shit on weekends until mid-April, so Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays I won't even be able to get on here (maybe Sunday night).
  • I fucking love coloring

Sure, I'll help. Is it limited in where it hosts the channel or can it just point to any channel on IRC?

I actually don't know how IRC works, I never use it. But I know you can install a dedicated IRC on a dedicated server... which we have. d£t has given me permission to install IRC in this forums directory. So as far as I know it would be here.

Re: No. 7 (New: Sun Shang Xiang, Virginia)

I spent about 5 or 6 years on IRC, so I'd say I'm pretty savvy to it... I'm not positive how the mod will work, obviously, but

- There should be some way to set it up to just point to an existing channel/server. The use of EsperNet is free, the server is fast, it has a lot of features and a well-functioning ChanServ/NickServ, and the mods there never bother anyone and it's not like we have to worry about any obscenity rules with a text-based relay chat... even if we did, I know those rules don't exist there. So, while I think the in-webpage IRC client would be pretty sweet for casual users, if it could point to an outside server (I really think it should be able to, it's just saving bandwidth), everything would be gravy.

- If there's no way, then I'd be curious whether or not a 3rd-party client like mIRC could connect to it (again, logically yes?). At that point it just becomes a taste thing, 'cause in-browser IRC clients never gelled with me too well (restricting, ugly UI, usually hard/impossible to actually be an operator on there) but I'm sure I'd end up just dealing with it.

blah blah blah tl;dr - see if it can connect to an outside server?

Uh... I actually didn't know there were mods for in browser IRC, I meant make a dedicated channel here. I don't know if I'm explaining what I mean very well. I didn't really have a plan to merge it with the forum, just have it installed here, just so the IRC channel is located at the same place as the site. but if not elsewhere is fine. Again, I'm pretty tech savvy, I just don't know shit about IRC.

Oh. Then my bad. I thought that's what you meant. That's pretty good news, 'cause those are gross.

But in that case, in a way, it hardly matters. The only thing to consider is that if this is going to cost anyone any extra money resources minerals vespene gas (even in terms of bandwidth use or whatever), 'cause like I said, EsperNet doesn't really have any bad qualities, and there are lots of other public servers out there with similar advantages. I can't see the advantage of a private server, besides making sure random people don't wander in, but there are ways to make sure that doesn't happen on any server (delisting the channel, password protection, moderation + autovoice, etc). Your call, I might be missing some really obvious advantage of a private server. I'm obviously biased since I already started some shit up, but whatever works.

Edit: Remembered the advantage of a private server. I think it mostly has to do with fserv and hosting files across the IRC (often warez on private servers). I don't think that's terribly important to us?

Re: No. 7 (New: Sun Shang Xiang, Virginia)

lol <-- not biased. The only advantages I see is the channel address would be ours, and we would have control over it. I also don't really plan on using it regardless, I might get mIRC just to check out whatever channel we are on, haven't used IRC in like 10 years.

Re: No. 7 (New: Sun Shang Xiang, Virginia)

The channel is in our complete control either way. I've even looked over EsperNet's rules and they all work very well with our needs... the only things not allowed are illegal things and abuse of the server (things like flooding services), which are both obvious. They even have a clause about adult-themed channels being okay as long as they're set to "Secret," which is perfect for us, as we didn't want strangers walking in anyway.

So, official word? Should I throw up a big ad for the current channel or are we goin' private?

SSX looks good. Never played too much DW myself though.

Do we have an IRC channel? I've got mIRC but it's been sitting idle on my HD for quite awhile.

Haha, No.7, we have something in common. We don't actually do "art." I've been bluffing my way through the drawing stuff all this time ;)

Keep up the good work mang

Ah, and there's BB, now we just need to send out search parties for the rest of the artists...

If you love something let it go, if it doesn't come back hunt it down and kill it!

I just wanted to say that No.7 should be the standard of a SDT artist. Templates are top notch, listens to the peoples suggestions and is very quick with responses and updates with the works progress. And provides codes as well for that extra touch, even the updated with with v1.2b. Many thanks to No7 for continued work!

You no longer have the insurance girl on your list of things to do :(

I'll just leave these here in case you change your mind. Sorry they are a bit dark at the top and the other one is small. Best side views I could find.

Thanks btc, Lurker, Blaz, AaRL, and Abom, my interest never changed, I just never finished that "interests" list. Thanks.

Anon, that's totally my fault. I was dicking around with the settings last night just to remember what they did and forgot to undo the one that doesn't let people without Voice talk. It's fixed.

Marle / Nadia Guardia (Chrono Trigger)

Playing with tritone shading and some thicker outlines. I think it worked out quite well.
