Q) How do i use the clothes menu?
A) The clothes menu is use to save an outfit and change in and out of that outfit. Use the scene menu to create an outfit.
Q) Why do I get an error when using the clothes menu stating it can't find item none or None
A) Case sensitve error. My bad.
Q) Are you going to fix it?
A) Not really worth it. I am currently rewriting DAPRA from the ground up. it will not be a problem in v2
Q) Is there any way i can fix this issue?
A) yes, reboot DAPRA to the start menu (the menu with the data manager, new game, and load game options). While in the start menu, open SDT's scene menu (Y) and change her clothes. once you change her outfit, close the scene menu and click New game. this will change the outfit variable data to valid values.
Q) Is there any way i can patch this?
A) yes, its a simple error. "None" and "none" are not the same thing. The issues is that i set the outfit.1. variables to "none" in the intial_settings. change these to "None". the initial settings are found in the Dialogue.txt file.
Q) My character's hair won't save.
A) Not sure why this happens. sorry.
Q) My character gave "birth" but I didn't receive cash.
A) there are three reasons why this may happen:
  • she was not pregnant.
    • impregnation requires a vaginal position. if she is not pregnant, any cum acquired vaginally is removed. cum acquired in other positions will accumulate until she is either full and pukes or if impregnation fails.
    • DAPRA uses animtool's atv_position variable to check position type. Most Doggystyle positions included with animtools are anal. loading animtools with the enableinloadereditting set to 1 will allow you to switch the position type to vaginal without loading up animtools in editor mode or editing the text file.
  • Dialogue lines were not fired properly.
    • this will happen. while there are ways to make lines fire more reliably (something i didn't do in v1), it can not be entirely avoided.
  • The cash display button needs refreshed.
    • yes, the cash display is a button. it does not automatically update. click the button to refresh it
V2 STUFF
Q) how far are you in writing DAPRA V2?
A) as of writing this, I have the opening rewritten. I am currently working on the shit ton of variables required for the special characters.
Q) special characters?
A) yes. there are currently 4 planned.
  • Hailey:(custom character) A test subject from the Hucow project *More info on the forum thread
  • aeridel [pronounced air-i-del]: (custom character)
  • Ashley: (Slave bazaar)
  • Ellie: (Slave bazaar)
Q) Slave bazaar? as in weewillie's slave bazaar dialogue bundle?
A) Yes. I got permission from WeeWillie to use Ashley and Ellie, and they are coming after you.
After having left the slave bazaar with sister in tow, you head to college to further your education in medical science. as you near graduation, a recruiter from DAPRA notices you and likes what she sees. she contacts her employer and you are offered an interview. you accept and end up at DAPRA. During the 8 year's you were gone, the bazaar has not been doing too well. ashley is thrown out after having been presumed dead from being beaten nearly to death for her insubordination. How she managed to survive is a mystery. ellie ends up escaping with the help of the other girls. Together, with ashley's father's help, they track you down. Ashley wants a ring, her father wants to meet you, ellie wants a father, the mistress and police are after all of you and you've got a debt to pay. have fun^.^

Q) less complex?
A) v2's initial release will probably be missing some of the complex features that v1 boasted. this is to make things simpler for everyone, especially me as I try to get a stable foundation and test out a new saving structure.

Q) New saving structure? does this mean previous saves won't work with v2?
A) yes. this is mainly due to 2 changes. the first change is the object variables. In v1, I was just dipping my toes in the water with no idea of what i was doing. With v2, i am diving in head first. I am more experienced, and organized in my variables. V2 will use sv. objects variables (save variables, not server variables like in valve games or DooM and Quake source port). the second change is the save file name. DAPRA has used ADOPT since before I came up with the name DAPRA. (Back then it was just called a pregnancy dialogue mini-game, the storyline was still about an adoption agency.) Starting with v2, DAPRA will use DAPRA instead of ADOPT.

Q) what else is new with V2?
A) starting with v2, DAPRA will have more rpg/dating/harem elements. one of the shortcomings of v1 is the lack replay-ability and depth. the game style is not as open as i would like so i have to branch out. please note that none of this is set in stone and everything is subject to change. it will take some time get everything straightened out.

its not an easy process, trust me. its not something that you just knock out in a week, and definitely don't want to attempt to do in a week as it will burn you out. To quote my own post to weewillie about the progress of slave bazaar:
With every new step forward comes a few setbacks, rigorous testing, and in your [weewillie's] case, scripting and debugging. Things become extremely tedious and frustrating at times, only getting even more complex and complicated as you go. You have to fight and work with limitations of the platform, and sometimes other mods, that everything is built upon.
I know how you feel. quality over quantity. Take your time and do things when you are ready to.

Not too discourage anyone who is looking to get into this stuff, while it is hard work, seeing your vision starting to come to life is well worth the effort. Even the buggy and unstable DAPRA v1 leaves me with a sense of accomplishment. many of the features in DAPRA v1 are experimental. I had no clue what i was doing, but when i got something working and things clicked into place, it gave me something to be proud of. Each time i see a message about Dapra or see the resource stats change, it means a lot to me. it gives DAPRA a reason to exist. it means that i didn't waste my time and effort to make this. it gives me a reason to continue working on DAPRA v2. DAPRA v1 might be a buggy experimental mess of ambition, but its full of alot of achievements and taught me most of what i know now. So please bare with me as i work on DAPRA V2.
