I know for a fact the first link is Atelier Resleriana (the one that's still a gacha.) The link below that one and the imgur below that is either Tales of the Rays or Tales of Crestoria (both shut down now iirc.) I don't know what the last game is. I'm thinking that maybe it's that mobile Castlevania game I heard about awhile ago? What name these games?
First one is Atelier Resleriana which sadly closed internationals servers a while ago, second and third are Tales of Rays which closed a couple of years ago and last is Castlevania Grimoire of Souls which is playable but only in Apple Arcade. What name these games?
Well I am playing NTE so far. I might need to keep an eye for Stun animation and KO animation if I messed up fighting. They don’t even have a real KO animation, either, do they?
I may record some hit stun some time.
For now, focusing on Abyssdia.
Do you remember where those are?The ones I'm thinking of are on a private upload that was shared with me, however there's definitely one or two channels that have featured the stuns just as part of general 'taking hits' montages.
Yeh, there's a lot of different stuff to offer. It's a great thing you're covering all for your audience. In vids covering one type of animation it's pretty common to see users asking if it would be possible to add a different one. Kinda like, if the vid has KOs, people might request sleep or holds or stuff. My edits for my supporters were a combination of hitstun (since there's lots of cute sounds), dizzy, and KO (which is like a prolonged state, I wish it had full KOs afterward)
It's just a matter of preference really. Things that might not be appealing for someone may be so for someone else, especially considering how abstract sexual preferences can be in general. I wouldn't say it's "objectively" worse or there's a factual reason why I like it less, it simply doesn't look as good for me? I guess I could say that without the holding they look a bit more helpless or out of it, lol? The pained expression is a more straightforward issue for me since instead of dizzy they look they are in pain, which isn't really my stuff. That and the mix of a pained expression and head holding actually makes it look they are facepalming, lol.I actually like the holding the head animations! But when it's everyone doing doing it is less exciting. Luckily they have varied vocal sounds like they make across Japanese and English which makes up for it for me.
Ooooh, I figured you were into the athletic, cool and strong girls. Chien being an example, but I remember how much you liked Yina from Blank City.Oh no, I don't have "a type" haha. It varies from place to place. There are definitely TRENDS which can say which heroines I may be more naturally attracted to over others. For example, in Zenless Zone Zero, it is Anby by far. In Genshin, it is Xinyan and I think Qingling was her name. In Kings Raid it was Yanne and Veronica. In Abyssdia it's Chien and Linette. In Granblue, it's Djeeta and Ferry. And so on, so on..There's no really consistency of who becomes my top favs either to play as OR for ryona, and often there is actually a difference. For instance in Granblue I don't really like to play as Ferry but I find her one of the top two cutest. Normally I dislike the busty 'sultry' type but as I mentioned above, Nina and Rosetta I actually also find very attractive.
It's kind of random in a way haha..^_^;;
Ah, I wasn't complaining, my mistake, I was mostly making the observation . I also figured a lot of people really wouldn't feel comfortable just openly talking about a something weird like this is, which is understandable. On the other hand, it's pretty common to have your own comments go unrespondend with popular channels, I mean it reaches a point where the content creator just can't keep up with everyone and instead simply makes another vid, a community post or a sticky comment responding on the general stuff that their fans were telling them.I did notice that, many seem to only lurk but
who has written like two million words of fanfiction over the years, I am unfortunately used to people lurking and not responding -- and to be fair, that IS how I often approach YTers I like, but that's because they are TOO popular so my comment feels like white noise. With ryona content, and even fan art, I have been making efforts to leave comments of support on the stuff I like a lot, especially when there are few comments.
That would be incredible. So glad Abyssdia wasn't lost when the NFT fiasco didn't work out. If I could give a small adivce, some cutscenes use the in-battle dizzy animations for comedic or other situations. Thing is, you get a clear look of the girl and the stars effect is perfectly lined with the character's model, so it might be keeping an eye on.I sent Mongaya a DM and I think also asked on their channel about how they are triggering the dizziness, so maybe I can get an answer and can help add to the content.
Girls Frontline seems to be the big game of those. It does seem to get the most attention on social media at least. Snowbreak started out as a more straightforward post-apocalyptic sci-fi shooter that featured cute girls, but the game wasn't selling well so they instead doubled down hard on fanservice, harem and power fantasy romance and the game started to do much better. But that also reflected on the story, from what I get, things essentially made the player avatar the center of the universe, all the girl's arcs were essentially tied to winning over the MC and male characters were removed from the game. While I don't think that's inherently bad, it is a completely different niche and audience it aims at.I know a group who seems big into Frontline but it's not my thing. The others I don't know of.
Ah, makes sense. It would have been weird to have a waifu game without a player avatar. (Still would have preferred if it was just the girls, though =P)I think Abyssdia technically has a faceless 'player' because the girls can 'go on dates' with you, or something?? I don't care about that. But your player character is practically invisible and doesn't exist in other story scenes I have seen. Which I personally prefer in this kind of game.
I guess it's hard to move from a formula that's shown to sell well in such a saturated market where games are dying all the time. It's understandable, but it's still a bit tiring to see "Genshin-esque" games, characters, designs, game systems and all that all the time. Either that or the more sci-fi edgy ones seen in games like Punishing Gray Raven. Now I've seen that some games are emulating ZZZ, including the "bouncy" and overly expressive motions. It's true, it's part of why I was excited for ZZZ and even NTE in a way, because we get MODERN looking characters in this kind of art style, it makes it at least feel a bit different. The gameplay of NTE is definitely more interesting than ZZZ but overall I like the characters of ZZZ more, though that's because Anby exists haha. At least in NTE I actually like the player protag a lot, maybe even the most of everyone so far.
Maybe? It has been a loooooooooooong time, lol.Oh I was here on this site even before that, wasn't I? I'm pretty sure I was posting things as Ryo even a bit before that also, though maybe not much longer.
Speaking of, I found out what happened with the 2 vids I posted before. Imgur is blocked in some parts of Europe, namely the UK. So if you're in those parts the vids are unavailable. I can try putting them somewhere else so you can see them.Yes, I was in America before.
Niconico went mad I tell you.No idea but if I could at least PLAY my OWN VIDEOS from there, I could use a screen capture to record them..
I am not really sure, I've hear Nord and SurfShark are pretty good, but they have a cost. That said, I would not use a free VPN since those are likely scams or outright dangerous.Ummm like what one? I can't use the popular stuff because it costs money. I mean, I guess if it could let me access Nico Nico it might even be worth getting a single month at some point..
It's understandable. Good to know you've been active in one way or another, one would be worried something may have happened.Oh yes, I have mostly been focusing my little energies on ryona content for my supporters and on FightStar. I keep forgetting to post new content for DA even though I actually have probably a lot 'saved up' to share there.. mostly edits of course but there's still some commission stuff that has been private for months or even a couple years or more which hasn't been shared there yet as I have kept it for the supporters.
I think I tumbled on it by accident, if you had recommended it to me I would remember it.Oh I probably specifically recommended it to you! Yes, it's a magical girl webcomic called Dame Daffodil, I have commissioned A LOT of drawings of those two for my DA, from the very artist who makes the comic, since she seems fine with it as long as it's not overtly sexual, which isn't even what I want o see anyhow, so it works. And then yes, I redesigned them for this visual novel as magical wrestlers. Nemona (Pokemon) and Charlotte (Castlevania) are also made and playable, while their partners Cassiopeia and Karlach have base images but not been fully worked into the game yet. There are other heroines planned and even one in partcular in the process of being drawn right now who is maybe all too predictable from me huehue..
Ooh, interesting. Makes a lot of sense given the style of the art. I think I've seen visual novel with RPG Battle minigames a couple of times, so it can be pulled off well.It is a visual novel engine game, with scenes of dialogue that have occasional choices which can affect how a battle begins. And then the main gameplay is just actual turn-based RPG combat, with HP and MP and everything. The mechanics are still being ironed out. For instance, 'Super Moves' that build from a meter over time based on actions each turn, or tag-team moves which use up both heroine's turns, are things I want to implement at some point.
That also works. Many games, indies and visual novels don't use animations, rather overlap several images with small variations, alongside special effects to convey the animations. It can be well done and looks great, much better than lackluster animations. At the moment the animation is simplistic but I've done a lot of effort to edit effects, use voice clips, and especially focus on changing facial expressions. For example, as a heroine shifts from normal status to 'Drowsy', then 'Sleepy', 'Asleep' and even 'Deep Sleep'. Plus, the last two have a dedicated character-specific drawing showing their pose. The same is the case for Dizzy/Dazed, also! It's got a lot of detail to it, on top of characters having many different lines for all kinds of stuff, whether attacking, taking damage, supporting each other, struggling with specific ailments etc.
Really, who? To be fair, I don't really know any artists per se in the community >_>;There has also been talks with a pretty famous ryona artist who is interested in collaborating for a scenario in the game! If we can ever..hear BACK FROM HIM again..then maybe that can finally proceed as discussed! ;D
Ah, I think I get you. The individual traits of the character and more personalized answers to the events? Yeah. It's great you can do something that neatly fits the things you like the most. For me, these ryona things are most appealing when it's more than just a "hot girl" having a bad time. The individual details of the character herself and how she responds to such things helps the entire scenario become more attractive, especially when it's more than one gal involved. So this project has been perfect motivation for me, hehehe
That only means you genuinely grew passionate of the whole story and your own work. That's pretty great. Not to mention, there's so damn much material in Pokémon to write a cool story, it's enticing to try to do so.in the last two years and change has actually been a VERY deep and involved, self-serious and earnest Pokemon Scarlet/Violet sequel story, which ironically enough was birthed by starting off writing a goofy shits-and-giggles story about Penny crushing hard on Nemona and using Pokemon on her as pranks as a means of trying to processand deal with that crush. And here I am over two years later writing about the gang needing to cope with governmental conspiracy type shit, death, loss, dismemberment, the complexities and strains of long-term emotional manipulation, and all kindsa genuinely developed character-building shit lol
They were disappointing, ngl. I found many times bored when playing the games. Still, you could tell they tried to do new things and some good ideas were there, like... the last episode in Area Zero was legitimately pretty good. But I am genuinely convinced that they rushed the game badly hence the trillion bugs at release and the bare bones everything. Not surprising, given at this point Pokémon is not the game series, the games are advertising for the merchandise. The funny part is I think Pokemon SV is one of the top two or three most piece of shit Nintendo games I have ever played, BAHAHA
But I do love the characters very very much.
Nemona is pretty awesome, lol. Like I said, it shows how passionate you grew for your project. And it all started with Nemona's appearance in FightStar, something which was just for fun because I thought she was cute and loved to fight! Now she is one of my top all-time favorite characters ever.
To be fair, characters in crossovers tend to be more flat they originally were in their source material, given you don't have the time to go through their characters arcs and all that with everyone. So you take their most recognizable traits to make them stand out.Although in FightStaras a bit of a silly goof, more one-dimensional than I now realize she actually is, hah... >_>; But I think it still works for the AU goofs-and-peril shenanigans that is the FightStar world.
Ah... yeah... a long ago you hinted at it on a conversation we had, but I didn't have the courage to answer back then. Terribly sorry to hear that. I wouldn't call it awkward, everyone's relationship with sex is pretty personal and "abstract" so you're not weird or anything. If anything, the fact you kept figuring yourself out and moving on is very admirable. Thanks! I was, so on top of that, as well as the course my life, my relationship with sex is..let's say awkward haha..sexually abused as a child, on top of beaten and neglected in my yonger years
But exploring this kink has helped me meet a number of people, and reinforced my ability to be detail oriented, something which is useful in many parts of life.
I see your point. I am on a similar boat. Fanservice games and waifubaiting aren't my thing. That said, I don't think they are wrong in themselves or anything. I mean, I see them like a porn flick or a hentai work? They are pretty straightforward that the appeal is cute waifus (sometimes hot husbandos) and fanservice, so it's more of a matter that it's not my thing. I have more issues when the work is trying to come as serious or be about different topic, yet still heavily indulges in fanservice, and especially if the fanservice in these cases affects the writting (like making all the female characters be waifus for the MC, constantly make boob or body jokes, the MC having a harem and sacrificing any interesting relationship they might have because it might be cheating on the MC, etc.). That said I am NOT against fanservice or sexy designs, I think making your characters good looking is perfectly fine, just don't throw everything away for the sake of that if your work isn't dedicated to be fanservice. And this goes both ways, I mean attractive girls are more obvious, but look at Resident Evil Requiem. One of the most celebrated aspects is how much of a hot daddy Leon is and people love it.For me, fanservice is usually not a problem when it is SEPARATE from the 'core material', especially when it is a FAN..SERVING..the content. Wen the main material itself is just..so so much waifu slop fanservice, I just can't enjoy it. It's why I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 1 DE, could not STAND XBC2 and stopped 8 hours through, but then fell back in love with XBC3. Two of them are more general JRPGs, one of them is mainstream waifu slop anime junk. And I won't necessarily judge those who like it, but I WILL assume they are staight cishet men, because that is specifically what that content is made to appeal to, and I..am not that audience, hah..>_>
Sadly no, only Xenoblade 1 had a dizzy effect. The second game did away with it and the third does have a stun effect but the character is simply knocked down for a moment. It's annoying when "stun" is an effect the game but the character is paralyzed or downed, but not dizzy, lol, I feel baited.Having said that, XB1 had Dizzy, and XB3 at least had Sleep..did XB2 have any cute things liek that? I've actually never seen ryona of the game. I edited Nia and Pyra's cute KOs for my DA years back when I tried to play it but that's all.
Do you have more stuff?Next time remind me to share some other retro content I haven't bothered to post anywhere else yet huehue..
Oh shit! That game is still available?! I thought it was lost media! I literally JUST got an Apple Arcade trial this week, I'll have to look into that...First one is Atelier Resleriana which sadly closed internationals servers a while ago, second and third are Tales of Rays which closed a couple of years ago and last is Castlevania Grimoire of Souls which is playable but only in Apple Arcade.
Sadly, I don't there's either, which is a real shame.Well I am playing NTE so far. I might need to keep an eye for Stun animation and KO animation if I messed up fighting.
Yes, I actually asked the person and they linked it for me. It's this thread.Do you remember where those are?
See, I actually like the pained expressions, BUT I also love the feeling of complete helplessness and pure vulnerability. It's especially fun to see different ways different characters deal with such things. It's just a matter of preference really. Things that might not be appealing for someone may be so for someone else, especially considering how abstract sexual preferences can be in general. I wouldn't say it's "objectively" worse or there's a factual reason why I like it less, it simply doesn't look as good for me? Literally do not remember who that is lolOoooh, I figured you were into the athletic, cool and strong girls. Chien being an example, but I remember how much you liked Yina from Blank City.
One story was a million words. Another is 300k+. The Pokemon one is probably about 300k by now, too, actually, if you include every part of it that's been written, But I've also written hundreds of thousands of words of fiction besides those three, and then probably around 150k of original novels in progress. You can always DM me if you're curious. Two million words? Lol, you pretty much wrote your own Russian philosophical fiction period novel series.
Tell me where the cutscenes are at and I'd be happy to record them, but I dunno if I feel like I clicking through every single story dialogue to look for them at the moment. That would be incredible. So glad Abyssdia wasn't lost when the NFT fiasco didn't work out. If I could give a small adivce, some cutscenes use the in-battle dizzy animations for comedic or other situations. Thing is, you get a clear look of the girl and the stars effect is perfectly lined with the character's model, so it might be keeping an eye on.
The NTE girl protag is easily my favorite of any gacha game I've ever played. Aside from maybe Djeeta BUT I have never played actual Granblue, only spinoffs. I won't say she's like an AMAZING character but she IS an actual CHARACTER with fully voiced dialogue and some kind of personality. She doesn't feel entirely 'bland' but she's also not goofy/weird/over the top like most of the people around her, so I think it works. Is the NTE character interesting? We usually get a bland nice guy, a smart ass with a permanent "meh" demeanor or a cutesy and somewhat dorky girl if she's a female mc.
Sure! I use Mega Upload for stuff like that as needed.Speaking of, I found out what happened with the 2 vids I posted before. Imgur is blocked in some parts of Europe, namely the UK. So if you're in those parts the vids are unavailable. I can try putting them somewhere else so you can see them.
Well, we ARE talking about a culture that will imprison people for uploading let's plays to YouTube, yet simultaneously is cool with fan porn being sold out in the open at conventions, so I really don't freaking know lolNiconico went mad I tell you.
I can't really justify a proper VPN right now, maybe if I ever get steady work again...I am not really sure, I've hear Nord and SurfShark are pretty good, but they have a cost. That said, I would not use a free VPN since those are likely scams or outright dangerous.
Yes, the two heroines have been reworked into a complete AU, as if the case with most characters. Those two are the most changed from their source material, though. And yes, you are remembering the character designs, though Charlotte's isn't identical to her source. It's the closest of everyone so far, but there are some differences, mainly the glasses and broach (which enables her to use 'Heart Mark' tools a la Belmonts).I think I tumbled on it by accident, if you had recommended it to me I would remember it.
But now this answers my questions regarding to what was the whole relationship between everything. I wasn't sure if the comic was based on your game or the other way around, lol, especially as the artwork was identical. But now that you tell me that the original artist of the comic is comissioning art it makes a lot of sense. I remember seeing Nemona wearing a martial arts Gi without sleeves, similar to Ryu and Ken's, but was a bit surprised that Charlotte was wearing her original outfit (aside glasses I think).
Yeah, there's variations in there and even elements of animation, mostly for effects but also with character's arms, expressions, and hair. There's even dedicated drawings to depict specific status ailments!Ooh, interesting. Makes a lot of sense given the style of the art. I think I've seen visual novel with RPG Battle minigames a couple of times, so it can be pulled off well.
That also works. Many games, indies and visual novels don't use animations, rather overlap several images with small variations, alongside special effects to convey the animations. It can be well done and looks great, much better than lackluster animations.
I'd rather not say until it's official and I have actual finished art assets from them. They're very hard to get hold of but we've have active conversation about it, down to what characters to feature and some story beat aspects. They aren't a specific ryona artist but they DO draw a lot of fanservicey art of women characters. And specifically depict ryona art for their followers/supporters.Really, who? To be fair, I don't really know any artists per se in the community >_>;
Character specific dialogue, down to what they do when getting hit, attacking, noting their partner in a pinch, struggling with an ailment themself, etc.Ah, I think I get you. The individual traits of the character and more personalized answers to the events? Yeah. It's great you can do something that neatly fits the things you like the most.
If you're curious to give it a try, DM me. It even has a segment specifically dedicated to 'soft ryona' with a romantic component lolThat only means you genuinely grew passionate of the whole story and your own work. That's pretty great. Not to mention, there's so damn much material in Pokémon to write a cool story, it's enticing to try to do so.
Exactly, and it's pretty disappointing. But GameFreak has never been good at this stuff aside from like the DS era imo. And I didn't even play those until the last few years.
Yeah, I adore her to death.Nemona is pretty awesome, lol. Like I said, it shows how passionate you grew for your project.
Leon is one of my guy crushes for real. Seeing him older was so fucking cute and hot, ngl. Although the way I'm attracted to guys is very different than the way I'm attracted to gals. Ex. I have no attraction for guy ryona. But I'm definitely attracted to characters of all genders. (and irl but that's also very different from how I'm attracted to fictional characters)I see your point. And this goes both ways, I mean attractive girls are more obvious, but look at Resident Evil Requiem. One of the most celebrated aspects is how much of a hot daddy Leon is and people love it.
That is definitely a huge problem I have with it. Not to mention the hyper sexualization compared to XB1 and 3. It's unavoidable. You cannot experience the story without dealing with it.where girls are portrayed as little more than pets for the MC to seduce or their servants, the implications of the girl weapon trope as "girl is there to be a tool for the dude" became a lot more noticeable, even if the writting does portray their relationship as cute and loving.
I like Sleep and Topple and even that binded one, too. So I was still pretty satisfied with that aspect of the game, especially given how many characters and even costmes for the main party you get. The downside is all the girls and guys have pre-canned animations per gender for those sorts of things. But it's a practical tradeoff in a game that gives you so many options.Sadly no, only Xenoblade 1 had a dizzy effect. The second game did away with it and the third does have a stun effect but the character is simply knocked down for a moment. It's annoying when "stun" is an effect the game but the character is paralyzed or downed, but not dizzy, lol, I feel baited.
I definitey have some retro game stuff I can share some time!Do you have more stuff?
Oh yeah... NTE has that guard gauge. If broken the enemy has a somewhat stun animation. Idk theres no human bosses so far as im playing...
Ah, yes! I did not know or remember if you were here! Have you shared the others like that artwork here?Glad you posted the Charo art here. That was me
What’s PGR?Does PGR has stun? I think it has. Idk
Did you end up getting those older ones colored at all?I think I shared all the girl ones I got from Sakura and others. Outside of this.
First one is Atelier Resleriana which sadly closed internationals servers a while ago, second and third are Tales of Rays which closed a couple of years ago and last is Castlevania Grimoire of Souls which is playable but only in Apple Arcade.
I've only seen two 'stun' animations in this game, here is the other one. It's from this video. While I am here, here is a gif I edited from this edit. I actually love her tired animation which is the main focus, but there is a brief clip of stun/sleep at the end too. Normally this archetype turns me off but in her case, and also Rosetta from Granblue, I find it very appealing..
View attachment 175580
Punishing Gray Raven. The game also has 2B but it has been impossible to find her animation >_>;What’s PGR?
Also, I have downloaded the mobile Castlevania game and unlocked Charlotte.
I have no idea how to inflict Dizzy on her, though…
I've only seen two 'stun' animations in this game, here is the other one. It's from this video.
That channel actually is THE best Atelier ryona channel I've seen, though it can be difficult sometimes to find the exact thing you're looking for. They use emoji in the title names sometimes, which is actually really smart. For their 'sleep' states they even add similar sounding voiceover which is a great touch, and use camera modding to get different angles, like a good look on their faces. Since the sleeping and dizzy animations are the same for each character and there isn't much variety, it's kind of the same different to me.
I didn't used to like 'standing' sleep states but I've come around on it over time, especially as part of a 'sequence' -- standing, sitting, laying down, based on how asleep the heroine in. This concept was worked into Project FightStar and I'm pretty happy with the results so far.
For stuns, I've done a similar thing, 'standing' Dizzy and then 'collapsed' Dizzy, or full on Dazed as I call it.
I'll try to remember to record something from the game and share it some time soon, but feel free to reply to this to remind me.
I’m struggling to progress in the game, haha. Ran into the bat boss at I think 4-1 and I simply don’t understand how I’m meant to beat it lolSome enemies have specific attacks that can inflict stun. From what I've seen the silver armor enemies holding a doublehand sword shoot a beam that can stun, and there are some orange merfolk that strike with their toungue like a whip which also stuns.
Oh I just meant progressive states, but yes, I also love it when the character has a ‘snap out of it‘ animation, like in some fighting games such as Smash. FightStar has the sprite vibrate with a flinching expression but each character has multiple unique dialogues for when they snap out of a state like that.Oooh, yeah. It's much better when the animation is complete, an animation to enter the dizzy state and another of recovery just make it much more appealing, IMO. Sadly only big budget games go that far, most games simply have characters "snap" between states like in older games.
I’ll look forward to it.Replying to your previous comment right now, mate. Gimme a bit, because I want to go in detail.
I was pretty surprised that it was actually preserved somehow as well. Especially as Grimoire of Souls came around 2022 when Konami was still pretty neglectful of their videogame franchises. Surprisingly despite the limited cast most heroines made it in: Maria (both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night incarnations), Shanoa and Charlotte. The only big heroine that sadly didn't make it in was Sypha. You could argue for Sonia and Yoko, but the former's game was a particularly niche installment and the latter was a supporting character, unlike Shanoa or Charlotte and didn't have the iconicity of Maria. Also bit of shame that Lucy isn't playable.Oh shit! That game is still available?! I thought it was lost media! I literally JUST got an Apple Arcade trial this week, I'll have to look into that...
It seems that it follows the Genshin-esque combat that so many gacha games use now, which is esentially based on quick paced parry and counter and elemental damages to the spam ultimate moves. Mongil Star Dive also uses that exact one, but in that game there actually is a proper stun status outside the typical stagger gauge on enemies. That said it only happens to monsters in a specific mission so far, but I'm still crossing my fingers that in an update there's the chance it may get added for enemies to use, like it happened in Atelier Resleriana which actually didn't have a Daze status until several updates in.Sadly, I don't there's either, which is a real shame.
I DID find a lady gangster NPC that you can stun, at least. There's random gang fights that sometimes appear on the overworld.
Ah, yeah! I remember you linked this user some messages ago. Glad he's also compiling stuff. And at the very least he updates more frequently than here and here, which have great stuff as well, but update very rarely.Yes, I actually asked the person and they linked it for me. It's this thread.
Yeh, I see what you mean. Different things appeal people in different ways and it's equally valid.See, I actually like the pained expressions, BUT I also love the feeling of complete helplessness and pure vulnerability. It's especially fun to see different ways different characters deal with such things.
Literally do not remember who that is lol
Cool girls are the frikkin bestBut sounds right. I don't just have a SINGLE type but it IS pretty consistent for me that my top favorite will be an athletic, cool and/or strong girl, and my second or third is often more feminine and/or scholarly.
That's ton of work, it's pretty impressive actually. Maybe I'll ask you to show me in the future when I have a bit more of free time and things are less hectic on my end.One story was a million words. Another is 300k+. The Pokemon one is probably about 300k by now, too, actually, if you include every part of it that's been written, But I've also written hundreds of thousands of words of fiction besides those three, and then probably around 150k of original novels in progress. You can always DM me if you're curious.
I'll try to find them and let you know. Wish people didn't skip all the story scenes, lol. Most skip straight to the gameplay. But maybe I'll have luck.Tell me where the cutscenes are at and I'd be happy to record them, but I dunno if I feel like I clicking through every single story dialogue to look for them at the moment.
I guess that's something? I'm not trying to be too negative about it, but after trying several games it just gets tiresome to see the same tropes over and over. It's also why I've grown so disatisfied with fantasy manga and anime nowadays, save a few exceptions. My peeve with these characters, the guy or girl who always has this bored expression on their face, a disinterested dispositions towards everything, most of their dialogue is exhasperation at best or snark at worst and whose chemistry with their friends is essentially their friends being over the top goofballs who the MC lampshades their are dumb or sighs at their antics. Worse than bland, they come as insufferable, it just plays into this silly idea that looking down on others and being sarcastic makes you "smarter" or "better". And it just has been done to death, not to mention how many times the companions are made to look dumber so the MC can look smarter or "cooler".The NTE girl protag is easily my favorite of any gacha game I've ever played.
Good one! I had completely forgotten that Mega was a thing. I'll try using that one.Sure! I use Mega Upload for stuff like that as needed.
Well, we ARE talking about a culture that will imprison people for uploading let's plays to YouTube, yet simultaneously is cool with fan porn being sold out in the open at conventions, so I really don't freaking know lol
Well, every place has it's ups and downs. In Japan you can leave forget your stuff in a public place and when you go back to get it it will still be there, kids can walk on the street and use public transport by themselves without fear and all. But authorities cover corruption, power abuse and crimes as awfully as everywhere else, but people are much less willing or allowed to speak of it, the entertainment industry is a well known grinder of people in order to sell them as products and the work ethic and abuse by companies has been abused to pretty much squeeze dry workers and have them tired and miserable, and the mindset of "think about community before yourself" has been twisted into "put up with my crap, because you don't want to trouble others do you?"Not to say I'm entirely against Japanese culture, as I actually prefer some aspects of it over 'western' culture, BUT there are absolutely tradeoffs in how they seem extremely strict about 'the law' and inherently associate legality with morality. So f you're breaking ANY kind of rule, it's considered inherently immoral etc.
Yeah, take it easy and worry about your own stability first. That said, DO NOT use a free VPN, those things are well known to be dangerous.I can't really justify a proper VPN right now, maybe if I ever get steady work again...
It makes sense to do a new intepretation of the characters methinks. And I don't complain about Charlotte's new glasses, they look pretty nice on her =PYes, the two heroines have been reworked into a complete AU, as if the case with most characters. Those two are the most changed from their source material, though. And yes, you are remembering the character designs, though Charlotte's isn't identical to her source. It's the closest of everyone so far, but there are some differences, mainly the glasses and broach (which enables her to use 'Heart Mark' tools a la Belmonts).
That's honestly a pretty nice detail. Nowadays most games simply add an icon near the character's protrait or reuse an exhaustion animation for everything.Yeah, there's variations in there and even elements of animation, mostly for effects but also with character's arms, expressions, and hair. There's even dedicated drawings to depict specific status ailments!
Ah, gotcha. Well, that explains the art and how it relates in general. Didn't expect to be such a complex business and collaboration behind.Basically, I order a comic page from the artist (Sakura-Rose12 in this case), and then for the game, I splice the illustrations and flash them on the screen when the heroine is in the corresponding state.

NOTE: this page was a collab with AnAltAccount, who decided the poses for Alesea (the pink woman), and I think the second pose for Nemona, as well.

These kinds of commissions can actually be split, as well. As in, two people can split the cost and collab on deciding what the contents are. The artist doesn't mind as long as she's getting paid to do draw and the content doesn't offend her. (Which, I mean, I've literally commissioned her magical girls in all kinds of mild peril you might see in an anime and she seemed OK with it, probably since I'm not looking for anything nsfw)
You can also just do a sketch, or a lineart, you don't have to go full color/shading. So that helps keep the cost down. I can do flat colors pretty all right, so for some I just get line art, and then flat color and even do a bit of shading myself. The coloring isn't done yet but here's one I did of NYaan (Gundam).
Gotta mention how nicely done the hair is. It's pretty hard to give it a wavy and smooth feeling to it when drawing it.Twitter | DeviantArt
She gets struck in the back of the head so hard, she's flung to the ground. In a daze, she struggles to get up, but ultimately passes out.
The second panel has dizzy swirls in her eyes added in, and I've added flat color to it so far, but it's not quite finished.

Gotta say she looks cooler in the wrestler incarnation, imo. Alesea looks good in both outfits. For good measure, let me share some older ones featuring Charo/Alesea in their original magical girl forms.
Charo (orange/yellow) is the main hero, Dame Daffodil, and her hair is actually usually in a high knot shaped like a flower, but in these it's been knocked loose from combat, while in the third she's in "civilian" form with her civvie hairdo. Here's a couple with her girlfriend, Alesea (Lady Lily) whose hair is normally straight and blonde in civilian form.

That's Arina's pose from Waku Waku 7, lol. Hadn't noticed it was the same girl as above.Third one is actually a FULL illustration, commissioned by An AltAccount, who gave me permission to post/share (since I'm the one who introduced them to the series, I assume). This isn't my usual kind of pose but it's still really cute and the expression is great. It's also just neat to see the actual original artist depicting her own character this way.

So, yeah, you can see I took quite a leap when redesigning her into this lol

The first two above are parts of comic pages like the previous stuff, the last one is a full illustration that costs the same as a full 5 panel page. I'm currently contemplating a page of this nature with Ruby, Chien, and Linette from Abyssdia, but I'm not sure I can swing a full comic page for them atm, so I may go with just a single drawing from a different artist. So yeah, if anyone is interested in splitting a comm like this with me some time, let me know! We don't need to exchange PayPals, the artist takes half from each person.
As for the game itself, I already shared a link to a page that highlights the download links but if you DM me I can always share it with you directly to try for yourself.
I'll be sure to take a look in the future.I'd rather not say until it's official and I have actual finished art assets from them. They're very hard to get hold of but we've have active conversation about it, down to what characters to feature and some story beat aspects. They aren't a specific ryona artist but they DO draw a lot of fanservicey art of women characters. And specifically depict ryona art for their followers/supporters.
Character specific dialogue, down to what they do when getting hit, attacking, noting their partner in a pinch, struggling with an ailment themself, etc.
If you're curious to give it a try, DM me. It even has a segment specifically dedicated to 'soft ryona' with a romantic component lol
I'd say that the original Sun and Moon had a solid story with Lillie's family business and all. At least had some heart to it. Sadly when Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon came out, instead of dedicating the games to the new Necrozma plot they clumsily juggled it with the preexisting one of the Aether Foundation, even the game was pretty much the same until very far into it. As a result both storylines felt shallow and rushed. They would have worked much better as sequels like Black 2 and White 2.Exactly, and it's pretty disappointing. But GameFreak has never been good at this stuff aside from like the DS era imo. And I didn't even play those until the last few years.
Yeah, I adore her to death.
Pfft, name one person who doesn't have even a bit of a crush on Leon. It's pretty great actually see the guy grow through the franchise and Requiem actually has him find some peace with all has happened. In general, I thought it was great that Leon actually had some trauma and anguish remaining after the horrors of Resident Evil 2. I mean, as much as I loved the original RE4, one thing that really stuck out awkwardly was Leon's new action hero personality. I mean, he was undeniably cool and his jokes were endearingly awful, but seeing him so "okay" after everything was odd. This was something I really liked from the Remake, he still was a badass action hero with quips, but it was pretty clear the shadow of Raccoon City was lingering and it was one of the major motivations to be so hellbent on saving Ashley.Leon is one of my guy crushes for real. Seeing him older was so fucking cute and hot, ngl. Although the way I'm attracted to guys is very different than the way I'm attracted to gals. Ex. I have no attraction for guy ryona. But I'm definitely attracted to characters of all genders. (and irl but that's also very different from how I'm attracted to fictional characters)
I mean, if it advertised itself as a fanservice game and all it wouldn't be so bad? In that scenario I'd just say that it's not my thing and just move on. But the fact that it tries to be this serious story (which I don't doubt it has) but at the same time throws all that pandering, fanservice tropes and other stuff it's really distracting. That is definitely a huge problem I have with it. Not to mention the hyper sexualization compared to XB1 and 3. It's unavoidable. You cannot experience the story without dealing with it.
I personally am just into stun animations. None of the other ryona stuff have an appeal to me (in particular when the girl is visibly suffering), even similar softcore stuff. But nothing wrong with people who are into that. I've seen KOs are pretty popular. So for me getting rid of Daze was definitely a loss. Especially as I reeeeally like Mio and Eunie.I like Sleep and Topple and even that binded one, too. So I was still pretty satisfied with that aspect of the game, especially given how many characters and even costmes for the main party you get. The downside is all the girls and guys have pre-canned animations per gender for those sorts of things. But it's a practical tradeoff in a game that gives you so many options.
Please do! It would be amazing.I definitey have some retro game stuff I can share some time!
Don't worry. I do say a lot of random crap, lol.I can't reply to every detail but I do appreciate your responses.![]()
Speaking of, the MVP updated and added more charactersIn the meantime, I am recording DIzzies, hitstuns, Downed, and KOs from Abyssdia, some for my supports down the line, some I will share here/elsewhere.
Of course, Mongaya has some pretty great edits to check out as we have shared, so I will totally look forward to any more of those.
