Do you guys think we should have different lists for this? Some games have like one female enemy or incredibly poor interaction with one playable female character and I'm reluctant to even put them in the list.

I was thinking maybe two separate lists for female protagonists and antagonists in games. Or maybe sorting them somehow based on the level of ryona in the game, although I have no idea how we could quantify that.

i was thinking a-z list but this is actually much better. if we later add game specific wiki articles it's probably possible to link those here?
should we add games with no ryona and explain that there's no ryona? should we rate ryona games somehow? like 0-5 score?

I'm considering buying the pay-for version of this wiki addon that will automatically link to other articles by matching article names among other things (like at wikipedia.com), so we could have game specific pages. I'm wondering if we should maybe use the thread rating system to rate the level of ryona in the game. I'd like to get more feedback as early on as possible so we don't work on articles that we end up having to change.

cool but why couldn't we just use urls? what i'm trying to say is that many peeps don't probably use the wiki so i don't know about bying expensive components... but hey, it's your site :)
anyway... the rating idea sounds good.

other thing i almost forgot: perhaps we should toss consoles that definitely have no ryona games like game boy advance? :D

Imo a small description what type and degree of Ryona awaits you for each game is enough, and if someone wants to make a whole new article for an game he can link that article here; 1-2 sentences don't justify an whole new article imo.
I don't know what are all the benefits the pay-for version has, but as onlinehero said to link to other articles you can easily use the url.

My original thought of this was to have links to articles for each game that would go into detail about the ryona in the game. Like playable female characters, female enemies, types of damage you can take, and maybe some screenshots etc. Obviously some games would have more info than others depending on how much people know about the game.

If you look on the top right of the wiki article, there's a "Rate this thread" drop down menu.

I remember looking up a japanese ryona wiki, which they do tell you more about the game and tell you just what kind of ryona your facing. A list of if your playing as the girl or if your beating the girl up does wonders to people looking for those types of games (such as me).

I think we should just be able to edit each one as we would like. Like, alot of people know about the Soulcalibur ryona world by now that we can have so much information on it, but with stuff like Zombies Ate my Neighbor only a one sentence thing could help. A wiki is an ongoing project that really has no end to it.

I can do the same for my own games. Most of the games I buy involves ryona in some way or another (when I'm thinking of random games than games I REALLY want, I always look for ryona ways for me to play it).

I do like the idea for linking each game to an article that talks about the ryona hotspots. A wiki has to grow from experts and researchers, so, yeah, let's just try to get moving on what you personally have played and go from there. There's no way one person can possibly do justice to every single game on the list.

Thing is, how do we determine what's worth listing? Take a game like World of Warcraft, are there are specific points where the ryona is obvious, or is it just the general way you can play as a female and be hit with all types of damaging attacks and magic?

I would say anything that's famous for ryona, has a main character be female, or any game that has a few varieties of ryona. So with WoW, if the female can be stunned or frozen or something like that, I could be worth posting. I don't think we have to put too much thought into it.

I've replaced any "Reverse Ryona" with "Male Ryona". Imo the second term is more intuitive to understand because when you hear "Reverse Ryona" you might think about girls dishing out the pain instead of receiving.

Well, that was my intent, being that ryona is girls receiving pain, the reverse would be her delivering it in a unique or alluring way.

However, after some thinking, I've come to the conclusion that ryona as a fetish is what it is because of the response to pain, etc., not the delivery of, so by applying "male ryona" the context is a little clearer. I did see the two terms brought up by another user and I have to realize that while I make like to see girls giving it out against males, that I'm focusing on the female with "reverse ryona" when it would really be the male that's the focused (to see him suffer).

I think? Anyway, I'll have to get used to calling it that, thanks.

Now that I think about it I'm mostly not interested into neither Female nor Male Ryona if the attacker isn't a female.
Differentiating between "Male Ryona" and "Reverse Ryona" might be a good idea, or it is too specific?

I'm gonna vote too specific. It should be one or the other, ryona (against female) male ryona (against male) I would think yuri is good enough to denote female vs. female ryona, and I'm sure there is a term that could be used to denote male vs. male if needed. I think what's most important is to specify who's receiving.

I'll do that with glee for more than a hundred games, but as you know, I won't have that kind of time until August 2011 :-/

There must certainly be some degree of separation between "good" and "barely passable" ryona content. My idea of quantification would be the number of moves each girl-beating character has. For example, a modern fighting game character has lots of attacks so it's "good" content, a 1990 Beat'em up has only one move per character so it's "barely passable" content. I'm tempted to go even more mathematically into it and multiply the number of different opponents to the number of their individual moves, but that'd probably be going too far!

Oh, and +1 to making clear which games have female protagonists, which antagonists, and which both. This could be done by using different list, different colors, or even a different subfixes in front of each game (for example [A]Captain Commando). And -1 to the idea of involving "male ryona" in the list in any kind of form, which would effectively mean listing every action/fighting game in existence.

1-2 sentences don't justify an whole new article imo.

But it does, though, as certain games have nothing noteworthy to write beyond 1-2 sentences, and it'd clog up this page if we write 2 sentences next to each entry.

I meant it in related to the quality of the article, not the amount of ryona content itself; I didn't expected that most articles about a single game would be as detailed and well-written as so far every single one is.

I think it not necessary, and it may be even harmful, to "rate" the ryona level of a game. First the kind and number of possible attacks should be already covered by the description, and second tastes are different, therefor also the definition of a game with "good ryona" content, and it might start quarreling when e.g. a game is rated with "passable ryona" content when some else thing the ryona content is excellent.
I suggest a list of suffixes behind the name of each game in the main list, and a key at the bottom of the article, e.g. f_PC, m_PC, f_NPC, m_NPC. Imo that's the most easiest to understand, and if we want we can later add abbreviations for popular kinds of ryona, too.

I would say every game regardless of the kind of ryona can be added as long as the person makes the effort to write an at least decent article about it. I wouldn't add a game that have nothing worth mentioning beyond a few sentences to the main list in the first place, but when someone already wrote an article about the game I don't mind if he also adds it to the main list.

Btw: I cannot see how previous versions of an article looked like; can only admins see that or does this wiki lack that feature?

I was referring to the quality of the article as well, and you can't expect the articles for all games to be as well-written as the current ones. What happens when we review an old beat'em up for instance? We will write "This game contains a female protagonist and each of your opponents can throw a punch and a kick" ... and that's about it. Because there is nothing more to write. And I thoroughly disagree with the phrase in bold. Whether you have something worth mentioning or not, every game with ryona elements must be written in the list, not just for the sake of completion (which is reason enough for me) but also for the reason you yourself stated later in your post : Our tastes in ryona are so different that someone else might love the game which you decided not to write an article about. It's evident that extremely short articles are a one-way street for a wiki like this.

I thought it obvious that the rating will not judge the quality of ryona since that's pretty much impossible, and also harmful as you stated. It can, however, rate its quantity. Even if the possible attacks are listed in the game's description, they should still appear in this main list, for that will make it infinitely more helpful. If someone, for example, is looking for games which include lots of female characters, it will be very easy for him to find them if we use quantity suffixes, but it will be hell for him if he has to open each and every game's description to find them.
