Ryona Dress Code? (1 Viewer)

I see that just about all of you said the same thing about showing too much skin/full nudity in ryona, and I agree. It just feels too slutty and takes away from the appeal. That's why I can't stand Ivy (Soul Calibur), Anna (Tekken), and Christie (DOA). Although the main reason is because I only like women with beautiful and innocent looking faces (rather than simply seductive) with their hair down past the shoulders. Their face and body shape matter more than what they're wearing.

I prefer clothes that show off their curves with nice lingerie underneath. Thigh high stockings and boots combined with a miniskirt or short shorts are the best. I don't know why, but something about thigh highs make women's legs even sexier. At the beginning, they should be fully clothed (yet still revealing the legs and with a top accenting the breasts). Then as the battle goes on, the clothes are eventually torn off until they're left with only their lingerie. Complete nudity is for sex, not ryona.

Viola in Soul Calibur 5 is the perfect example. Other ryona favorites in their original costumes: Julia (Tekken), Lili (Tekken), Hitomi in hotpants (DOA), Kasumi (DOA), Kokoro (DOA), Leifang (DOA), Chun Li (SF), and Tifa Lockhart (FF). I also like MMORPG (Blade & Soul, TERA, Aion) girls in armor, as long as there's cleavage and exposed thighs.

I'm into the cute face too though as one of my posts put while you a re into much more feminine women I'm into the action girl/tough/cute/tomboy tyoes. i mean Lili from tekken is pretty and all but she doesn't do it for me like her rival does

I'm usually into "everyday" casual clothes (stuff like jeans, skirts, and sneakers/boots, schoolgirl outfits... you know, stuff that girls would particularly wear on normal days). It doesn't matter if the girl's a tomboy (Sakura, Asuka, Hinata [Rival Schools]) or the "pretty" chick(Karin, Chun-Li, Lili) but as long as it isn't the usual overly busty, blatantly sexy outfit-wearing chick then I'm fine. Characters like Soul Calibur's Ivy & Taki come to mind. I just gravitate more to the "fun" looking girls and not the overly serious/obviously sexy ones.

OH and girls don't HAVE to be a tomboy for me to like them (ie Athena kof, Nakoruru samurai showdown julia) i's just I gravitate to them :P not to say I like ALL of them. Seriously screw Kallen from code geass(or however it is spelled) and Asuka from Eva. they are both horrible people

Can't agree more with this list... you reminded me about the final fantasy girls... ashe.. lightning... all these girls that think they're all strong. Seeing them get beaten up and then raped by monsters... that's true ryona!

Forgive me but I can't make sense of the above. Anna in her default outfit shows almost no bare skin (her legs are covered by tights) and in her alternate outfit she wears thigh-high stockings and short shorts, so by your account, you should love her. Same with Christie who shows no skin but wears a bodysuit which shows off her curves O_O

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the feeling (ambience/look/voice/kind of character) that Anna and Christie give off. In my perspective, they try too hard to be sexy and seductive, which just has the opposite effect on me. I'm more into the pure natural beauty type rather than the type that seems to show off for attention.

Just check out Anna's Tekken 6 story ending and Christie's DOA4 ending, compare it to a character such as Julia Chang or Lei Fang, and you'll get what I mean.

It's my mistake for not adding more reasons in the beginning and not organizing it clearly enough. Well, I did add in my previous post that I only like girls with long hair; Ivy, Anna, and Christie all have short hair. Those clothes are fine, and in fact, I think they'll look better on my favorite girls. And I did say in my previous post that their face and body shape matter more than what they're wearing.

Maybe I should have also added that their type of personality & character are important to me too. If I like the aura they give off & the character they portray, as well as their looks, then they're one of my favorites. After I know that, they can wear just about anything and it's fine. Kinda complicated.. I just don't like them almost to fully nude before the fight has even started. I prefer a build-up in ryona, rather than just straight beating on sexy girls.

The initial look and body language are what define the girl's character to the viewers. It's what either attracts or drives them away.

Personnaly, what I like the most is skinny attire (like Leotard or thong leotard for exemple, with tights or not). I prefer girl with clothes like Cammy, Morrigan, Psylocke or Erel (Evil Zone). The only thing I hate is when the girl is naked (It's make her so... common).

I personally love barefoot Gi-clad cuties(Hitomi, for instance), especially when they face a far more experienced opponent in a tournament.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned martial arts uniforms..

I usually like anything revealing from sophitia's 1p costume in sciv to elysium's armor broken suit in scv

I also enjoy skirts that can be blown up for the occasional panty shot.

i love skin tight outfit. mini skirt is okay because it can be upskirted. The rule of thumb for me is they wear their trademark clothes. it wouldn't be fun if chunli is in a bikini and not in her chongsam dress. i like doa girls in bikini, because they wear ones in doax and doax 2. i don't into full nudity because, nudity is the climax, besides, ripping clothes off is a good humiliation. but expressions count more

For me, I like natural scenes. Like if a woman walking down the street were suddenly put into a ryona situation.

If it's a character I know, I rather they have their normal clothing, because it identifies them, although it's good if it partially falls appart. If it's a random character, I'd preffer no clothes if it makes sense within the setting. I preffer nakedness in something like wrestling but more clothes in something like a fistfight and possibly armor of some kind in a swordfight (Although naked with a bug shield and a helm works too). But I don't find clothing particularly appealing, I just like it if it makes sense or if it's important so the character feels like herself.

As for what type of clothes, I preffer tight over revealing, independently if for ryona or otherwise. Things I like particularly include yoga/volleyball pants, tank tops, spandex, latex, exercising clothes, short shorts, possibly jeans... I generally don't like dresses unless they're very simple, tight ones of only one color. In the naked department I like those like, boots that reach up to the crotch with gloves that reach to the armpits, so the limbs are covered but the entire torso is naked. I also like simple, elegant, metallic necklaces onlong thin necks.

Welp i like bodysuits, 2 piece bathing suits, lingerie, the old plate oddly revealing armor... And full blown elegant gothic lolita outfits (seemingly never ryona'd though). And i never like any exposed nipples or privates. I can tolerate it if the ryona is good but i prefer it not done.

I also like 1 black belt/holder/straps on one of her bare legs, and opera gloves, i looove opera gloves (the kind that go to the elbow)

Hmm... Normally when the women in question are wearing a mini-skirt, a dress, closed-toe shoes/boots, and/or a leotard. Clothing preferred in black, gray, or blue. I prefer them to have a decent amount of clothing.

Just to name a few characters for ryonaing (LOL, created a new verb.)

I like a bit of variety (from Evilbabes board):

My favorite type is a lean, fat, muscular mature youngster.
Elegant in a trashy way, she is a loving mother that everyone hates.
She is one of the best fighters of the world, about to get knocked out.
Tough and vulnerable, smart and always in control, she is an unimportant minion who's pretty stupid.
At the end she pays the price, goes to jail, suffers a horrible fate and makes a beautiful corpse, but outsmarts everyone.

What I don't like is obvious fetish stuff, like military uniforms with high heels and pantyhose, or nudity when it doesn't make sense for the role. In general, the girls should be regular people (no clones, cyborgs, etc.) and not look like porn stars or supermodels.
