The only difference is whether they place their hand on their head, their chest or simply leave them hanging down. To be fair, it's incredibly rare for games to give different stun animations to their characters nowadays, that stopped like in the mid 2010s. Nowadays, there's a single or a couple of animations at most reused for everyone, usually the character slightly lowering their head.

Oh I definitely covered stuns in GranBlue Relink myself for my supporters, though I'm still no entirely done posting those. I've been saving the main heroine for last and I think this month may be when I post the first part of that! I also know someone personally who has recorded great clips of the stuns from a forward perspective but I don't know if they shared them publicly yet. Since I rented the game I also was not able to capture the DLC heroine, and I know some more are coming but I don't have money to spend on a super grindy game like that, but I will say I enjoyed playing it so if the opportunity to play the new expansion on a budget shows up it is something I will probably look into doing!!

Thanks for sharing that Djeeta one, I have already seen probably all the Relink ryona vids on YT by now but it's been a long time. I'm usually not about the blonde characters too much..it's ironic because I adore Min Min! But usually they're not for me, yet Djeeta is my favorite in GranBlue, especially with her alternate outfit in Relink!! Her voices are really cute to me, and I love the design having armor but also 'dress' type parts for both outfits, and she also has one of my top favorite haircuts..hmmm..even the same as Min Min's huh??

HAHA I was already more than aware and had seen those back when I replied last time huehue..I even DMd Mongaya t thank them for making these so far. I have downloaded the game myself and started playing but I don't have any clue where to find this particular boss fight. If I get there, I will try to record my own versions to capture angles Mongaya didn't, and/or maybe characters they have not covered yet. What is funny to me is that it seems like a fantasy gatcha action RPG where ALL of the playable characters are gals, I don't think I've seen that before. I won't say I'm big on the story or anything, it is a little too much "waifu slop" for me but I can enjoy the simple gacha grind without spending any money and the character designs I do often find cute. Ruby being the 'main' player character was a real surprise for me, a big sword lady with horns?? As the default character?? It feels like a nice change from so many other gachas.

I have also played some of NTE which is a new "anime GTA" gacha and it has character designs I like for both guys and girls, but I haven't looked into "ryona" for it yet and it seems to just be another Mihoyo-like game, maybe not even with the nice KOs of ZZZ. I hate when the character just fizzles away into nothing immediately, it's disappointing haha.

It’s time to finally update people here on what I have been up to!! To begin with, I am in my late 30s, and while I do not have a steady day job I do have freelance work sometimes and various things to take care of all the time and work on, so making time for this kind of content is often just not a good use of time. Also, I moved to Europe!! It has been a big change but it’s been going very well. You might remember my Youtube channel was removed years ago, and with it many videos I worked hard on and lost. I wish they didn’t just delete your channel and at least let you back up your content with some kind of warning. However it is what it is.

Over the years I have slowly remade some of what was posted on YT, I even edited some longer and more detailed videos I was proud of for Niconico..but now I cannot watch most of them myself, and have no way to access or download them from there. So if anyone has any idea about how to do that you can let me know. I got into making gifs instead of videos as these can easily be edited to loop and I can easily share them places, such as deviantart and Twitter.

I have a long running deviantart now which I will still share some things on now and again. Also, it includes many commissions I have ordered over time, or things I received as a gift or collaboration. I’m very pleased with many of the drawings I have commissioned and think they often capture the exact kinds of things I find attractive and appealing in “soft ryona” which often features my favorite states to see heroines in: Sleep, Dazed, and Knockout. I made social media accounts on sites like Twitter, Tumblr, and BlueSky though Twitter was the main place I shared my works. Now I can’t really stand Twitter’s culture and mostly just use it to share fanart and keep bookmarks of references for possible future projects.

However, I did eventually make a (small!) Patreon, where I post monthly ‘Ryo Post’ content, usually including video, but sometimes other stuff. There’s even been some short ‘peril’ stories shared for my readers, as well as fan art, and gif edits. I have covered many Smash Ultimate mods, and some RPGs like GranBlue Relink and Atelier Ryza. The money I raise on this Patreon goes to creators also, usually to make ‘soft ryo’ content or contribute to ‘Project FightStar’. (sprite art below drawn by sakura-rose12)

FightStar is a crossover fangame that has heroines (usually in a team of two) fight monsters in a light turn based RPG system where each fight will have a status ailment gimmick to deal with. So far it features Drowsy/Sleep and Dizzy/Dazed with a few heroines, with plans for more to come, however it’s slow going I will admit. But it includes so many of the things and details I love to see with this kind of thing, with heroines in a pinch that have unique dialogue for different things happening, their own poses and expressions for status ailments, and a feeling of cooperation and helping save each other, but also failing together if you lose. It was actually inspired by an H-game where I wanted to take similar ideas from the way it was presented but rework them into something that wasn’t nsfw, and it is trying to capture a lot of detail with a lmited budget. Even if all of the plans and hopes for Project FightStar cannot be fulfilled I still am enjoying seeing how the work comes together in whatever form it can take.

for the first time ever since I started posting as Ryo, someone discovered my “main account” identity and I couldn’t hide it from them for long, since outright lying doesn’t settle well for me. If you follow FightStar then it may not surprise you to find out that the person who manages 'Ryo' is, in fact, the same person who develops Project FightStar itself -- a small time indie dev in their spare time, and a long term writer who has even worked for publications and a person or two you've probably heard of in the gaming industry in the past.

However, I still very much want to keep this difference between 'Ryo' and “main account” identities private. Partly because of embarrassment, partly because kink stuff should be allowed privacy imo, and also because, frankly, I am a raging leftist feminist and obviously this kink logistically clashes with that -- which is why the division between reality and fantasy is pivotal for me with this stuff, as someone who literally can't enjoy games that are too loaded with objectifying fanservice because it overloads me with discomfort, especially as a married person. But yes, this also means the written story content shared for supporters is also written by the same person who maintains the 'Ryo' alternate identity. If we've known each other a long time and you wish to more openly swap 'main' account identities, feel free to DM me. My identity as Ryo started here, on this website, as I recall, many years ago, and expressing a part of myself through her helped me ultimately come out as queer/trans in real life, and I have tried to always be a positive influence in as much as I can while assuming the identity of 'Ryo'.

The first one I actually know! It's from that gacha Atelier game! I never would have expected to see DoA gals in that game and I admit I'm not a fan of either in particular BUT in the Atelier style they're both cute!! I know videos that showcase both of those gals in 'dizzy/sleep' and 'low HP' states, I can look it it if that's desired. I have not been able to find extended 'dizzy' cuts however I like sleep a lot also and the animation is the same for characters. There's one that channel that uses mods to get extended looks at these, they even add extra voice clips that try to sound similar to th characters.

It's so good to see more!! When I started playing the game this week I instantly knew Chien was my favorite overall, but I don't see how I'd be able to unlock her.. :') HOWEVER thank you Mongaya, I had low expectations of her stun animation because she looks so tough, but WOW WOW it's probably my favorite in the game I have seen so far!! The way her torso sways forward and backward, struggling to stand, her left arm swaying limply, and her HEAD MOVEMENT is so unique for this kind of thing, so limp and flopping around... She looks COMPLETELY out of it and it's all sooooo frickin' cute!!

I want to know how to get the gals stunned like this, whenever I fight that plant boss it never does it to me..Does anyone know?? Is it like you need to find a specific higher level version of the fight??

While I am here, here is a gif I edited from this edit. I actually love her tired animation which is the main focus, but there is a brief clip of stun/sleep at the end too. Normally this archetype turns me off but in her case, and also Rosetta from Granblue, I find it very appealing..

Still, the fact you went with the game to get the footage is appreciated to begin with, especially given that money is an issue for everybody nowadays so renting it is pretty reasonable.

Granblue has such a gorgeous cast. The guys are also incredibly stylish, just everyone looks good lol. Wish they didn't hold their heads though or the expression was less of pain, it doesn't give the sense of a stun rather than they are hurt or something similar.

...Yeh, I'm being picky, apologies, it's just that with such good looking character, such nice artstyle I had disproportionate expectations for the game, lol. But that's on me if anything =P

Maybe you found your type? Hehe. Djeeta is also a favorite of mine. I dunno, but in fantasy designs the miniskirts are either a hit or miss, and when they make it work holy cow does it look good and Djeeta's outfits pull it off greatly.

Speaking of, to be fair, gacha games where all the playable characters are girls are pretty common nowadays, but almost all of them are, well, "waifu slop" as you say. There's Snowbreak, Girls Frontline, Star Savior, Lost Sword, to name a few, which sell themselves as fanservice games where you can live your harem adventures with your harem of anime girs.

Interestingly, Abyssdia previously was an NFT game called Stella Fantasy around 2022 I think. The game was mostly the same aside from the crypto crap. But one big difference was that there was a player avatar character you controlled, the male version was essentially Kirito while the female version looked like Marin from My Dress Up Darling. So it was pretty surprising they did away with them for Abyssdia, given most games do feature a featurless male MC who, while not participating in combat and such, it's pretty much the center of the story so the players can have their avatar and all.

Yeah, lol, I've seen quite a few people comment on their disappointment with characters disappearing right away when defeated.

I can see your point with it feeling a bit samey or at least looking so. Has happened to me as well. Initially I thought Genshin chars looked incredibly stylish, but then just started to feel the same designs and visual elements started popping everywhere in chinese games, so you essentially see very similar characters over and over. Not to mention how many developers just go for that Genshin aesthetic. It's kinda how so many fantasy anime just reuse the same isekai archetypes, characters and desgins.

Ah, yeah, I've been checking your DA for a while. But it went a while without updates and in addition with not knowning from you for a while, is one of things that had us worried. Your twitter is also pretty cool, not only because of ryona stuff, but also for all the great fanart you find and share there.

I've been intrigued by this one for a while now. I've seen the artworks and such, and they look great. What kind of game is it? A visual novel of sorts? I also remember seeing the magical girl at the left and the wrestler girl at the right in an online comic that was about their relationship, but I can't remember or find it anymore.

I see what you mean... but honestly, I don't think having this kink makes you a hypocrite when it comes to your beliefs in real life. Aside the fact that the abstraction of fantasy creates a big line between what you enjoy with fiction and reality, there's also that... you know, having a kink is not the same as treating women like objects or hating them. I mean, yes this is an odd fetish, but for starters the stuff we share is the most lighthearted it can get in that regard, second you could argue that liking something like a girls chest or rear could also be objectifying or that using sexy designs is problematic in itself. I personally don't think that's the case, especially if you do value women beyond a kink and such. I mean, if a writter or artist uses fanservice, but also gives female characters intersting personalities, detailed developments and compelling character arcs, then I think that's on the right track, I think a bigger issue would be the annoying cliché of making all girls this harem pet-like girls to fall for the player avatar MC and personalities that fit more of a waifu archetype. Same way, a person in real life can oogle girls, but still be a respectful, affable and charming person when actually interacting with them and keep things separate.

But I also understand why you'd like to keep things down. Sex is in itself a very controversial topic and it's bound to get some stares if people found about this stuff, I guess. What I'm trying to get at is that you shouldn't feel embarassed about yourself nor feel it compromises any of your beliefs.

The ones I'm thinking of are on a private upload that was shared with me, however there's definitely one or two channels that have featured the stuns just as part of general 'taking hits' montages.

My edits for my supporters were a combination of hitstun (since there's lots of cute sounds), dizzy, and KO (which is like a prolonged state, I wish it had full KOs afterward)

I actually like the holding the head animations! But when it's everyone doing doing it is less exciting. Luckily they have varied vocal sounds like they make across Japanese and English which makes up for it for me.

Oh no, I don't have "a type" haha. It varies from place to place. There are definitely TRENDS which can say which heroines I may be more naturally attracted to over others. For example, in Zenless Zone Zero, it is Anby by far. In Genshin, it is Xinyan and I think Qingling was her name. In Kings Raid it was Yanne and Veronica. In Abyssdia it's Chien and Linette. In Granblue, it's Djeeta and Ferry. And so on, so on..There's no really consistency of who becomes my top favs either to play as OR for ryona, and often there is actually a difference. For instance in Granblue I don't really like to play as Ferry but I find her one of the top two cutest. Normally I dislike the busty 'sultry' type but as I mentioned above, Nina and Rosetta I actually also find very attractive.

who has written like two million words of fanfiction over the years, I am unfortunately used to people lurking and not responding -- and to be fair, that IS how I often approach YTers I like, but that's because they are TOO popular so my comment feels like white noise. With ryona content, and even fan art, I have been making efforts to leave comments of support on the stuff I like a lot, especially when there are few comments.

I sent Mongaya a DM and I think also asked on their channel about how they are triggering the dizziness, so maybe I can get an answer and can help add to the content.

I know a group who seems big into Frontline but it's not my thing. The others I don't know of.

I think Abyssdia technically has a faceless 'player' because the girls can 'go on dates' with you, or something?? I don't care about that. But your player character is practically invisible and doesn't exist in other story scenes I have seen. Which I personally prefer in this kind of game.

I can see your point with it feeling a bit samey or at least looking so. Has happened to me as well. Initially I thought Genshin chars looked incredibly stylish, but then just started to feel the same designs and visual elements started popping everywhere in chinese games, so you essentially see very similar characters over and over. Not to mention how many developers just go for that Genshin aesthetic. It's kinda how so many fantasy anime just reuse the same isekai archetypes, characters and desgins.

It's true, it's part of why I was excited for ZZZ and even NTE in a way, because we get MODERN looking characters in this kind of art style, it makes it at least feel a bit different. The gameplay of NTE is definitely more interesting than ZZZ but overall I like the characters of ZZZ more, though that's because Anby exists haha. At least in NTE I actually like the player protag a lot, maybe even the most of everyone so far.

Ah, yeah, I've been checking your DA for a while. But it went a while without updates and in addition with not knowning from you for a while, is one of things that had us worried. Your twitter is also pretty cool, not only because of ryona stuff, but also for all the great fanart you find and share there.

And I can understand your issues with Twitter, the already existing amount of crappiness over there seem to have been magnified a hundredfold in the last few years..

Oh yes, I have mostly been focusing my little energies on ryona content for my supporters and on FightStar. I keep forgetting to post new content for DA even though I actually have probably a lot 'saved up' to share there.. mostly edits of course but there's still some commission stuff that has been private for months or even a couple years or more which hasn't been shared there yet as I have kept it for the supporters.

I've been intrigued by this one for a while now. I've seen the artworks and such, and they look great. What kind of game is it? A visual novel of sorts? I also remember seeing the magical girl at the left and the wrestler girl at the right in an online comic that was about their relationship, but I can't remember or find it anymore.

Oh I probably specifically recommended it to you! Yes, it's a magical girl webcomic called Dame Daffodil, I have commissioned A LOT of drawings of those two for my DA, from the very artist who makes the comic, since she seems fine with it as long as it's not overtly sexual, which isn't even what I want o see anyhow, so it works. And then yes, I redesigned them for this visual novel as magical wrestlers. Nemona (Pokemon) and Charlotte (Castlevania) are also made and playable, while their partners Cassiopeia and Karlach have base images but not been fully worked into the game yet. There are other heroines planned and even one in partcular in the process of being drawn right now who is maybe all too predictable from me huehue..

It is a visual novel engine game, with scenes of dialogue that have occasional choices which can affect how a battle begins. And then the main gameplay is just actual turn-based RPG combat, with HP and MP and everything. The mechanics are still being ironed out. For instance, 'Super Moves' that build from a meter over time based on actions each turn, or tag-team moves which use up both heroine's turns, are things I want to implement at some point.

At the moment the animation is simplistic but I've done a lot of effort to edit effects, use voice clips, and especially focus on changing facial expressions. For example, as a heroine shifts from normal status to 'Drowsy', then 'Sleepy', 'Asleep' and even 'Deep Sleep'. Plus, the last two have a dedicated character-specific drawing showing their pose. The same is the case for Dizzy/Dazed, also! It's got a lot of detail to it, on top of characters having many different lines for all kinds of stuff, whether attacking, taking damage, supporting each other, struggling with specific ailments etc.

There has also been talks with a pretty famous ryona artist who is interested in collaborating for a scenario in the game! If we can ever..hear BACK FROM HIM again..then maybe that can finally proceed as discussed! ;D

Say, feels good doesn't it? Work on a project of your own? I mean, it's a lot of work and effort, but dedicate time to give it shape, see how it improves and all is something that feels satisfying like you wouldn't believe.

For me, these ryona things are most appealing when it's more than just a "hot girl" having a bad time. The individual details of the character herself and how she responds to such things helps the entire scenario become more attractive, especially when it's more than one gal involved. So this project has been perfect motivation for me, hehehe

Spoiler: My main creative work

in the last two years and change has actually been a VERY deep and involved, self-serious and earnest Pokemon Scarlet/Violet sequel story, which ironically enough was birthed by starting off writing a goofy shits-and-giggles story about Penny crushing hard on Nemona and using Pokemon on her as pranks as a means of trying to processand deal with that crush. And here I am over two years later writing about the gang needing to cope with governmental conspiracy type shit, death, loss, dismemberment, the complexities and strains of long-term emotional manipulation, and all kindsa genuinely developed character-building shit lol

The funny part is I think Pokemon SV is one of the top two or three most piece of shit Nintendo games I have ever played, BAHAHA
But I do love the characters very very much.
And it all started with Nemona's appearance in FightStar, something which was just for fun because I thought she was cute and loved to fight! Now she is one of my top all-time favorite characters ever.

I see what you mean... but honestly, I don't think having this kink makes you a hypocrite when it comes to your beliefs in real life. Aside the fact that the abstraction of fantasy creates a big line between what you enjoy with fiction and reality, there's also that... you know, having a kink is not the same as treating women like objects or hating them. I mean, yes this is an odd fetish, but for starters the stuff we share is the most lighthearted it can get in that regard, second you could argue that liking something like a girls chest or rear could also be objectifying or that using sexy designs is problematic in itself. I personally don't think that's the case, especially if you do value women beyond a kink and such. I mean, if a writter or artist uses fanservice, but also gives female characters intersting personalities, detailed developments and compelling character arcs, then I think that's on the right track, I think a bigger issue would be the annoying cliché of making all girls this harem pet-like girls to fall for the player avatar MC and personalities that fit more of a waifu archetype. Same way, a person in real life can oogle girls, but still be a respectful, affable and charming person when actually interacting with them and keep things separate.

But I also understand why you'd like to keep things down. Sex is in itself a very controversial topic and it's bound to get some stares if people found about this stuff, I guess. What I'm trying to get at is that you shouldn't feel embarassed about yourself nor feel it compromises any of your beliefs.

But exploring this kink has helped me meet a number of people, and reinforced my ability to be detail oriented, something which is useful in many parts of life.

For me, fanservice is usually not a problem when it is SEPARATE from the 'core material', especially when it is a FAN..SERVING..the content. Wen the main material itself is just..so so much waifu slop fanservice, I just can't enjoy it. It's why I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 1 DE, could not STAND XBC2 and stopped 8 hours through, but then fell back in love with XBC3. Having said that, XB1 had Dizzy, and XB3 at least had Sleep..did XB2 have any cute things liek that? I've actually never seen ryona of the game. I edited Nia and Pyra's cute KOs for my DA years back when I tried to play it but that's all.

I don’t have too much to add to all the discussion just yet but it’s really cool seeing such genuine human discussion on this thread, it still feels a bit weird at the end of the day as it is a kink thread but it’s really sobering in comparison to all the horny posting online nowadays, it’s tiring seeing people make their whole personality about fetishes and sexualisation and porn online especially on their main accounts with their whole ass identity attached to it, but to see so much mutual respect in this community is really nice.

But one day I hope that if things go to plan, I’ll definitely bring something to the table, and you guys will know exactly who cooked :)

Yeah, it's that humanization that has made it difficult to really connect with people in this weird community, unfortunately. I've managed to find some folks, I'm in a general 'ryona' server as Ryo and it's a gated community which has been for the best. HAHA I was already more than aware and had seen those back when I replied last time huehue..I even DMd Mongaya t thank them for making these so far. I have downloaded the game myself and started playing but I don't have any clue where to find this particular boss fight. If I get there, I will try to record my own versions to capture angles Mongaya didn't, and/or maybe characters they have not covered yet. What is funny to me is that it seems like a fantasy gatcha action RPG where ALL of the playable characters are gals, I don't think I've seen that before. I won't say I'm big on the story or anything, it is a little too much "waifu slop" for me but I can enjoy the simple gacha grind without spending any money and the character designs I do often find cute. Ruby being the 'main' player character was a real surprise for me, a big sword lady with horns?? As the default character?? It feels like a nice change from so many other gachas.

The stage I use is Stage 7 of the Solar Goddess Temple, it took a good bit of grinding to get to, and I usually run a healer on the team to record the stuns, since some characters just melt upon being touched once by the boss. I've been considering doing more ZZZ stuff at some point, but lack of knowing if there are gameplay camera tools (outside of the Photo events) and the fact there's been so many people who upload less frequently that do a better job imo, motivation is low.

I've also been wanting to do videos for KoF Maximum Impact 2 and Regulation A, but again, camera tools exist, but no one either seems to keep up with them, or people that have them just don't reply when I ask where to find them.
