Well I admit part of why I’ve stepped away from spaces like this and related discord servers is that my attraction is to “soft ryona”, not really presenting over objectified characters or speaking of them like objects, and sadly the culture of course is not good at aboiding that hahaha Also I wanted to use my talents in this space to foster a more close type community who even provides some financial support to pay for the work that I commission in this kind of thing. I even created my own personal discord server recently which was how I became aware of this thread still going on!!

The shutdown of my old YT channel was also disappointing and really slowed down my production, but also I am getting older and just don’t have as much time to spend on such things. I can’t even access my niconico any longer, so if anyone is able to do so, some way of backing those up would be great.

It’s a bit strange to think how this alter persona of myself being weird and mildly horny would bring people together but I guess that is natural in the time of the internet before recently..

I will provide an update on my related works and newer interests soon, I will first wait for Thief’s ”organization” huehue

I see your point. Unfortunately, it's not only in this sort of content, all fanservice and horny stuff will end up bringing people with troublesome attitude sooner or later, even things that aren't even related to fanservice itself. For example, Guilty Gear had quite a few followers because of the fanservice, so when Strive took a modest approach appeared a small group that is constantly at war because of it. Another example, even more farfetched that comes to mind is the newer Resident Evil games. There was a bit of fanservice in earlier games, but it was done away with to fully focus on gore and horror, yet there are a few people dismissing all that because you can't see up Jill's or Ashley's skirts.

Like I get this complaint when a game, anime or VN's selling point is fanservice. In that case it's reasonable to be mad because you were buying for the horny to begin with and they are taking that away. But in other cases that was not really on the table. Though I also agree that as of late there is this fear among many developers of anything that can be perceived as sexualization or fanservice. I just think pushing on any of the two directions too far can be harmful.

Yeah, I remember you mentioned it. Can only speak for myself, but things are pretty hard where I live so I can't spare much money on anything. Didn't know you had a Discord, but that's pretty neat. And great that you got the news this thread was still active.

And agree on that one, smaller communities are the best. Things get too chaotics when they grow too much.

Yeah, those days purging all channels with anything that could be remotely considered "sexual" were pretty crazy. Things seem to have calmed down in recent times, but definitely activity is much slower compared to before.

Life catches up with you, that's understandable. But, don't feel pressured or anything, we do things as we can, there are no schedules here.

Dunno what happened there. Suddenly NicoNico decided that you can only access mature content on the site if you are from Japan, so you need a VPN. I think that even to make accounts that's the limitation. In general it became pretty "no tourists" with time. Maybe it's related to that hacking incident they had a couple of years ago.

I don't know anyone who has backed up NicoNico stuff or even can even use the site. Don't know about the rest.

Well... internet allows for communities of all sorts of strange stuff to gather together, so there's that. It has always been a possibility with the internet to be fair, and it's pretty lighthearted all things considered.

Pretty sure the game has shut down on Global, so JP server will be the only way to play it, usually for region-specific mobile games I'd do the method of changing app store location (very easy if you need to put in fake details there are plenty of random address generators online), which almost always works.

If you need any actual websites in the future for downloading expensive games on pc or anything like that, you can always check the r/piracy megathread on reddit, at your own risk of course, but it's the most safest/reliable as far as I'm aware.

I know T Thief sent some youtube timestamps to this thread (I might be dumb but for some reason I can't find them), and though, I haven't seen anyone get close-ups/higher resolutions of their animations, but this is the best so far maybe:

hey urAGiru_Epts , sorry if you're busy, do you reckon you could maybe take a look if you are able to extract the stun animations from girl wars (少女戰爭)? Zaysha/My Ryona posted a few on their twitter a while ago, and I've seen the game for myself and in-game the quality is very bad so it's hard to get a real close-up on what the character sprites actually look like. If you have the time, I'd be most grateful if you could look into it perhaps? I was wondering if you could check if Chaos Zero Nightmare actually has stun animations or if they only just have a break animation, but of course that's asking for a lot, so up to you, just curious.

Thank you again, I'd really like to spend some time learning how to extract files myself, but I have been so busy (and I understand you and everyone else are too, so again, please take your time).

I haven't had time in the meantime whatsoever so I really haven't made any edits with those extracted gifs yet, but I experimented a little with the facial expressions too, it's a bit wobbly, and I don't have to patience to really stabilize it, but I think it's a good enough job... (2.1 is original, 2 is edit)

Also some of the soultide stun animations are quite suitable for edits too.

I checked, and the game's spine file is encrypted, so it might take some time. (btw I wonder why the live2d is not encrypted)Actually Even if it's extracted, the rendering quality isn't very good though.The image quality is far less clear than that of oz or lost word. Edited using keyframes in in editing software,
Layered the stock effect of the spinning stars twice, once on top (cropped from the bottom by 50% and left and right by about 30%) so that the effect passes only over the front of the head) and once underneath, you can use color/ultra key to get rid of greenscreen or black backgrounds, then you can use keyframes (and bezier curves if you need smoother movement) to track the head movement.
Pretty much just basic frame interpolation/inbetweening animation, I’m sure you can do it in any software that allows you to work with layers.

The face expression edit I just did in an art software and slapped it on top and just did the same thing with the tweening pretty much, inbetweening animation lets you get smoother movement which works better for spine animated character models, for 2d animated sprites it will be much harder because you need to animate everything frame by frame yourself otherwise the different frame rates will look “off”.

Lack of good stun animations nowadays honestly, tired of it, need to start making my own.

Abyssdia: Ash Stun

Green characters cannot take hits from this boss, that and the chance the boss will use a move that un-zooms the camera makes it more annoying to record.

One thing, I guess we could try requesting more animations in twitter from the users who made the videos above. I don't use twitter so I personally can't, but maybe you guys can give it a shot and may have some luck.

I've tried asking around at the users in Youtube, but either didn't get an answer or got evasive answers (which after a while made it clear they were politely telling me they didn't want to cover stun animations). Still gonna ask again with other people who might seem to be doing vids or something.

NicoNico may have something, but I personally can't access it ever since they blocked everyone outside from Japan for restricted content. Dunno if you guys know a way to work around that.

There's also a new game called Mongil Star Dive, which despite ticking every anime cliché of the manual and the girls all essentially being a different harem trope (painful dialogue and tone-deaf cringe humor included), the game does look very visually impressive and pretty and the characters are very attractive (even if the two leads look too bland, they are literally wearing mundane modern clothing with some "medieval" details here and there. Heck, they would fit nicely in 2000s movie. That said, the heroine is good looking and her cool demeanor is very appealing, too bad her crappy personality is a turn-off.) The game does have stun "animations" as seen here and here, but I don't know if there's a proper stun status. I've seen enemies be stunned by traps in the Esther, the samurai maid, event stage, but doesn't seem it can be applied to players.
