Not dead, but down for the count. Mainly because Hearthstone itself is, Blizzard hasn't added anything interesting in years, interest across the board is going down. I'll probably do an update for the next expansion, but it'll not be as much as it used to be.

New Bitchwood Version - First post updated

It's been a while. The update got a bit bigger than I had originally planned, which is a good thing I suppose? Download in the first post of this thread. Also, you won't need to apply the boomsday file additionally anymore, everything is back in one file.

Excuse me, could you please help me? I download both archives: uMod and TheBitchwood, unzip uMod one, start it, add the game, press "Use global hook", start my HS with DX9, but nothing pops in uMod. All buttons remain inactive. What the hell am i doing wrong? Trying to install it for a week, but seems there's no chance for me :(

The mistake people seem to make the most often is to choose some Hearthstone install file instead of the actual game .exe.
Otherwise I have no way of knowing what you're doing wrong from the information you've given.

Maybe some part of your GPU Drivers conflicts with DX9 Texture loading.

Hmmm.. My Hearthstone installed to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Hearthstone\Hearthstone.exe

UPD: Updated my GPU drivers, relaunched Battle.Net client several times, somehow it works, great mod man, appreciate it! And also thanks for advice about drivers!

Guys, bad news: Today's Hearthstone patch introduced the biggest Nerf in the history of the game:
jaina Nerf.jpg

That's right, they covered Jaina's cleavage! OUTRAGEOUS!

Since that invalidates the current texture in the Bitchwood, here's two ways you can fix that.

Either add this line to the texmod.def file in the Bitchwood.zip:
Code:
0X40FF3E6C|Avatars/Jaina.dds

Or download the attached .dds file (which is the Jaina texture with the original filename) and add it to your uMod-List

Can you please make a tiny mod that will only return old Jaina?

Everytime I play Hearthstone and see this puritan abomination I fight urge to close the game.
Bitchwood helps, but I want to play in public places too (in subway, at lunchtime, etc.).

Hi there, Eddyboy. I'm currently working on another-god-damn-hearthstone-nude-mod, and I want to change some of the sounds for cards as well as illustrations. Is there any way to replace sounds using uMod or soft like it, and had you already tried it? I know that some guy called wellpaidHS alredy did that years ago, but he gave no explanation to others and just disappeared. If you have any idea for replacing sounds, please let me know about it.

No idea, also high chance that it would be detectable and therefore bannable.

Welcome to The Bitchwood, where clothing for female Hearthstone Characters is completely optional!

This mod is the spiritual successor of Whorestone, with a twist:
Where in Whorestone the aim was to mod every card in the game, this mod aims for quality instead of quantity. Then, I modded every card and minion depicting females in the art. The downside of that was that the quality of the art I used varied drastically and doing golden animations for all of them was just too time consuming.
Modding only cards that really beg for it with art that really fits them decreases the quantity of modded items, but increases the quality of the art and allows me to add golden animation to just about every single one.

Word of warning, some of the art depicts violence against said modded characters. This may not be your cup of tea, but I won't be making an additional censored version like I used to with Whorestone. This has the upside that I will be uploading smaller updates as soon as I add individual new cards, instead of waiting for weeks and months before I think it is enough to be worth the effort.

Some Previews of Golden Animations here:
With this release, just about 95% of the cards have fitting golden animations. If you find some that I missed (which is likely), just tell me in this thread. Also, if you think some specific card absolutely needs to be modded, and if enough people share your opinion, I will likely add that card along with its golden animation. Even more likely if you link me some good art that you think will fit.

For Instructions how to install, click here:
How to install:
-------------------
0. Do NOT unzip the zip-file you download here!

1. If you haven't used it yet, download the Umod application from this post. (This one you can extract, of course)
IMPORTANT: Make sure you use the right version (uMod_v1_r44.zip). There are newer versions, but those don't work for me, and my mod probably won't work with them.

2. Start uMod, click Main -> Add Game

3. Browse to your hearthstone folder and select the Hearthstone.exe

4. Activate "Use Global Hook" under "Main"

5. Start Hearthstone normally (via Bnet Client)

6. Hearthstone should now show up as running in Umod. There, Click "Open Texture/Package" and select TheBitchwood.zip

7. Make sure you have your ingame Graphics options set to "medium" or "high". It won't work on "low"!

8. Save a template via the Main Menu of Umod and use it as default; this will automatically launch the mod with Hearthstone and therefore make use of the new Login Screen.

9. New steps, must be done once after the Hearthstone update of June 1st, 2017:
9.1. Go to your Blizzard App (Former Battlenet App)
9.2. Click the logo in the Top Left
9.3. Go to "Game Settings"
9.4. For Hearthstone, enable "Additional command line arguments"
9.5. Enter "-force-d3d9" (Without the ")
9.6. Click "Done".
This will force Hearthstone to use Direct-X9 instead of Direct-X11, making Umod work again.

Frequently asked Questions

Q: The mod doesn't work / Textures don't show up / Hearthstone Crashes
The install instructions above are the outcome of many people having many problems over the years, and the fixes for all of those are in those instructions. So all I can say is try to follow the steps exactly and exactly in the right order. Details set to medium or high? Directx9 fix applied on the battlenet client? Using Global Hook instead of trying to run the game through Umod?

Q: Can installing this get me banned?
A: No. You do not even "install" the mod, actually. Umod runs independently from Hearthstone and other games, by "intercepting" textures that would be rendered by your GPU and replacing them. No game files or aspects of your game connection are being touched in any way.
I've been developing Whorestone, this mods' predecessor, for over 3 years. Neither me, not A SINGLE ONE of the thousands of people who have downloaded the mod have been banned for it.
When it comes to what is written in Blizzard's Terms of Service, using any kind of Deck Tracker is MUCH more likely to get you banned.

Enjoy – Feedback appreciated!

Hey, I love your work! I've had some free time, so I extracted the arts to PNG's to make it easier for people to explore your mod.
Or if someone decides to change a card or avatar art too, it can be used as a reference of how much will be visible later.

I also used your original mod (3/14/2019) and organized the files in it a little bit, like sorting the cards by expansions.

The Mod.zip contains the files, nothing was modified, only organized and the Extras.zip the card/avatar arts, uMod and alternate arts (currently one, the only one I found in your archive).
I hope you don't mind this! And feel free to use it and expand that instead in the future, I would be honored! ^^

For everyone else, I hope you find this useful!

EDIT: folder structure updated (03/25/2019)

EDIT 2: "Hound" token back where it should be, and minor file name changes (03/26/2019)

EDIT 3: download links here:

That looks quite interesting, and sure took a lot of effort, probably some scripting/batch processing involved, huh?

To be honest, having to pack it all together for me is the most annoying part of the modding process. I see some problems with structuring it by Wild and Standard, since that changes regularly, but the rest seems to make sense at first glance. I'll look into it some more and come back on your offer.

Yes, once I figured out how to approach this, I mostly worked with AHK scripts (I'm not too familiar working with PS batch, honestly).

I figured that much, hah, you're a creative person, structuring/organizing things can be boring or frustrating sometimes.
That's a good point on the Standard/Wild structure. First, I started doing without that, not sure why I changed my mind.

EDIT: I updated the files in my previous post, now the Standard/Wild folders are in the same place
