I've finished compiling my favorite Hero portraits from previous art packs and added a few of my own. I altered some colorings on skin tone and added some extra lighting to some. Feel free to look through the preview and take the ones you like.

I also updated the practice art just for fun so I've included my UI folder as well.

Yoyo i just followed the guide on page 10 very carefully but whenever i try to load my collection or go into playmode i just enter an endless loading screen. Is there a fix for this? Just fyi i also tried followed the guide on page 21 but it didn't work for me and it said to try the one on page 10 so that's what i did.

Are you using SKIF.exe or SKIM.exe?

Do you have your whitelist setup correctly?

Before you open your collection are you able to ctrl+shift+backspace to open the menu for Special K?

1. I'm using skif.exe

2. when i tried the page 21 guide, i tried to setup the whitelist, but the menu didn't pop up when i started hearthstone, so i probably did it incorrectly. But i could also see that i had a different version installed than the one the guy was using so that might be it.

However, when i followed the page 10 guide, i didn't have to setup a whitelist, but the special k menu started on hearthstone anyway.

also, i tried using a texture pack that changed the startup loading screen, and that worked, so it definitely is switching the textures. .

Hm. Special K is a little weird for everybody so bear with me while I try to troubleshoot. I think not getting your whitelist setup correctly is your only problem. You should uninstall any special K you have and re-install via this page: SKIF Select 0.7.2.1

Once you have it installed launch SKIF, not hearthstone. it should look something like this:

Click options tab at the top and then type Hearthstone\\Hearthstone.exe where is says Whitelist patterns, should look like this:

Then go back to the first screen and hit the Start Service button

THEN launch Hearthstone and see if it works. if it doesn't, restart your computer and try again. If it still doesn't work let me know.

I got the same error when using the Version 0.7.2.1 mentioned above.
Downloading v 0.11.0.50 as described on page 21 solved it for me. (Thank you for pointing out those pages!)

I'm having the same issue and restarting pc or the solution you mentioned doesn't change anything. However! Out of 100 restarts of hs sometimes you hit that golden legendary and it works the rest 99 times it doesn't. I can't figure it out what's the problem and the weirdest thing is that it's not a never gonna work or never gonna not work its just really bad rng when the mods load up and the game itself isn't buggy.

Hey Guys :)

Here is my official idiot proof guide to getting this mod to work. I've tested it on multiple machines running windows 10. Please follow the instructions exactly.

Step 1: We need a clean install of hearthstone so uninstall Hearthstone if you have already tried to get Special K working.

Step 2: Delete your hearthstone folder from your drive to remove any old Special K remnants.

Step 3: Delete your Special K folder from user/documents/my mods folder. If it says a program is running, restart your computer and then delete it.

Step 4: Reinstall Hearthstone and run it. Change your graphics to High. Close Hearthstone.

Step 5: In Battle.net click the settings cog next to the play button. click game settings. Click the check box for [Additional command line arguments] and copy paste -force-d3d11 into the field. It should look like this:

Step 6: Download the zip file I've included called Special K and extract it to your Hearthstone folder (probably on your C drive in your program filesx86)

Step 7: In your Hearthstone folder double click SKIM64 and click install. let it run and click affirmatives through the installer. Check the box to run on startup.

Step 8: Launch Hearthstone again, there should be an overlay now, but your text on screen is probably jumbled so close Hearthstone.

Step 9: go to your Hearthstone folder and open the file called dxgi - scroll down until you see [Textures.Cache] below that you will see a line that says IgnoreNonMipmapped=false - change that to IgnoreNonMipmapped=true - file/save the document and close it.

10: Launch Hearthstone and open the Special K menu in game by hitting Ctrl+Shift+Backspace. Agree to the terms and then click Render Mod Tools to open a new window. Click Refresh textures and then select the first texture and click dump to disk, this will create the SK_Res folder and allow you to create the file path for your injected textures. Here's a picture:

Step 11: Go to your Hearthstone folder and open the file called SK_Res. There should be a folder called Dump, add an additional folder called Inject and open it. In the inject folder create another folder called Textures and open it. In the Textures folder create another folder called Hearthstone.exe - So the path should be Hearthstone/SK_Res/Inject/Textures/Hearthstone.exe

Step 12: grab a pack someone has uploaded (mine is in my signature) and extract it into your Inject/Textures/Hearthstone.exe folder.

Step 13: Launch Hearthstone and be happy.

Note* if you are having trouble AFTER doing all of this, restart your computer and go to your documents/my mods/SpecialK folder and double click SKIM64 to relaunch it.

If you get an error or something doesn't look right let me know and try to include a picture of whats happening.
