Nah I'm just trying to save people the disappointment of having to deal with some power tripping moderator with an inflated sense of self worth and a weird gamified system of enforced daily engagement that's not far off from the slop being pumped out by the video game industry lately (do your daily achievements bro)
You seem to have a very grave misunderstanding on what participation is. Lurking is actually good. Lurking is how you learn the culture of a community before you start posting. I lurked here for months before I started posting.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I hear your frustration and I’ll respond as clearly and respectfully as I can.
To clarify, users are not removed for simply “not posting daily.” Removals typically occur after
one month or more of inactivity, and only
after several reminders via onboarding, pings, and messages. The policy exists to support a sustainable and engaged community, not to enforce rigid posting quotas. I looked at your own removal and saw that we sent you a DM inviting you to rejoin if you wanted to be active.
While I understand that lurking can feel like a way to learn the culture of a space,
our internal data doesn’t support the idea that long-term lurking leads to meaningful participation here. In fact, the server was mostly inactive from its launch in 2023 until February 2025, when we introduced the current structure. Since then, we’ve seen a significant shift in activity — including from
members who had been quietly present and only began engaging after the policy went into effect. That’s the pattern we’ve seen repeatedly. Anyone here can scroll through the channels and see this trend for themself.
This system won’t resonate with everyone, and that’s totally fine. But it has helped create a more consistent, collaborative space for those who choose to engage. I genuinely wish you the best in finding a community that aligns better with your expectations.
