It wont save any .mods or .swf only the character konan does
It sounds like you're using the in-game character Save feature. That feature captures the scene into a long text block (called a "character code" or "charcode") and saves it to a local SOL file on your computer.

Unfortunately, this feature is a part of the base game and so it doesn't capture all of the information added by mods.

There are two basic solutions:
  • moreclothing
    • this is a "heavyweight" mod which changes the behavior of the whole game
    • it registers many new clothing items and incorporates them into the in-game menus
    • when you want a Cleavage Tank Top, you won't browse for an external SWF file. Instead, you'll use the in-game ◄ and ► selector buttons to choose the Cleavage Tank Top from the stanrdard "shirt" menu
    • this mod is very reliable, but if you're new to SDT then you might have trouble setting it up. If you're stuck then you could switch to sby's Loader Pack instead. It's a preconfigured SDT folder which you can extract onto your local disk. When you launch it, you'll notice that many mods (including moreclothing) have already been installed and they'll activate automatically.
    • if you customize your girl's clothing using moreclothing items (without loading any external SWF files) then you can use the in-game Save Character feature. The girl's costume will save correctly, and you'll be able to re-load her in the future.
    • you can register additional clothing items, in case you find a cool new SWF file which isn't included in the standard moreclothing package. The registration process can be daunting at first, but it's quite easy once you've done it a few times.
  • character folders
    • instead of using the in-game Save button, you use out-of-game operations (such as creating text files) in order to setup a separate folder for each girl
    • each folder will contain a character code (text information about skin color, breast size, etc) and a set of mod files (sexyTankTop.swf, fancyHat.swf, and so on)
    • you'll be able to activate these characters in-game using the standard roster -- just as if they were one of @Konashion's girls. But if you make changes in-game then you won't be able to save them. You must always make changes out-of-game.
    • you can find information and instructions in the Newbie Guide.

So if i were to download the mod to make things easier for .swf and .mod files do i jus tneed to keep the mod in the mod folder itself?
If you've downloaded a new SWF file and you intend to use Character Folders, then you must copy-paste the file into each of the relevant folders. If you want Alice, Beatrice, and Cathy to wear the Cleavage Tank Top, then you'll need to place a copy of CleavageTankTop.swf into the "Alice" folder, and the "Beatrice" folder, and the "Cathy" folder.

But no - it is not sufficient to merely copy-paste a new SWF file into your Character Folder. You must also create a Mods.txt file which tells SDT which files to load. You might ask "why doesn't SDT just load all of them automatically?" and the answer is that Flash programs are not allowed to do that, for security reasons. In most cases, Mods.txt will contains a list of all the SWF files in the current folder. In this example, it might contain only one line of text:
Code:
CleavageTankTop.swf

So the "Alice" folder would contain a Mods.txt file (which mentions the SWF file) and a copy of the actual SWF file. And the "Beatrice" and "Cathy" folders would each contain their own copies of Mods.txt and CleavageTankTop.swf. Each Character Folder is supposed to be standalone and self-sufficient. You end up with a lot of duplicated material, but it means that you're able to delete an unwanted Character Folder without knocking out half of your roster :)

Anyways, there's a walkthrough in the Newbie Guide which explains how to setup a Character Folder. Please take a look.

If you're having difficulty installing the moreclothing mod, then you could try sby's Loader Pack instead. You can find it in his thread. It doesn't require any setup. Just extract the files into a new folder, then double-click the "play SDT loader" shortcut.

holla if your entire characters are being deleted (like starting the game fresh), and not just custom clothing on characters.

If you manually load a SWF file during gameplay (by clicking the "Swf Mod..." button) then that particular mod will not be included in the saved character.

You can register all of your SWF files in moreclothing, and then activate the clothes/hair/accessories via the in-game menus and selector buttons. Your characters will be defined by longer charcodes, but they'll save and load correctly (so long as you continue to use the moreclothing mod).

Or you can stop using the in-game saving features. You can setup a Character Folder for each of your girls, and copy-paste SWF files into each folder as needed.

Please choose one of those two options. The workflow that you're trying to achieve (load SWF files manually, save character using the in-game Save button, restart the game, load your saved character via the roster, and then all mods will automatically reappear as soon as the character is loaded) will not work in the SDT Loader.
