- You play CIA agent Sydney Bristow, the main protagonist of the TV series which the show is based on.
- She has several outfits available throughout the game and in some cases, changing outfits is required to complete the mission as part of disguises or to survive temperature extremes. Some outfits include: cocktail dress, default spy outfit, business suit, formal dress, biker outfit, desert camo, snowsuit.
- While the game obviously tries to encourage stealth gameplay, it usually isn't a necessity and you can brawl your way through most stages.
- There is a wide variety of melee weapons that can be used as well a limited number of firearms. You never start with a firearm and only pick them up off downed enemies. Ammo is not available or dropped off enemies so once you use the remaining bullets in a gun, it is discarded.
- Most of the combat is hand to hand. Enemies do not have throws they initiate.
- Sydney can be knocked down in various ways although it will usually happen from taking a series of hit without blocking or evading. Enemies can also counter your attacks or disarm you of a melee weapon you're attacking with by throwing you to the ground. Enemies do not attack you while you are down.
- Sydney has a default set of voice work done by the actress who played her in the TV series (Jennifer Garner).
