History lesson

MUGEN itself is "just" a 2D fighting game engine that is highly customizable; it originally featured only 1 character and 2 stages, but it became quite popular and so thousands of characters, stages and even complete UI changes were created.

The developer of MUGEN, elecbyte, vanished in 2003 without a warning; to that point only the DOS version of MUGEN was officially released, so the community helped themself by cracking and improving a never officially released beta version for windows, the most common used version of this era is WinMUGEN Plus. In 2009 elecbyte reappeared with a new version of MUGEN and updates the game frequently since then. Currently the MUGEN community is on the move because the official version is compatible with most, but not every content created for the old version, many of the fanmade tools, which makes the creation of a new character or stage easier, are not yet compatible with the new file system of the newest version, so therefor still alot of creators work mostly with the unofficial version. But on the long run pretty much any creator will change to MUGEN 1.0 (and upcoming versions) because the new versions (will) feature many features you don't want to live without after you tried them, i.e. changeable resolution (playing the old version on a widescreen monitor was a torture) and customizalbe AI; because of this I'll assume in the following you have downloaded the newest, official version of MUGEN.

Let's get started

You can find the unoffical versions of MUGEN on randomselect: --> Link <--
You can find the newest version of MUGEN on the offical side of elecbyte: --> Link <--

Before you start adding new content go into the 'data' folder in your MUGEN folder, create a new folder, name it (lets assume you called the folder 'custom') copy the file 'system.def' from the folder 'big' and the files 'select.def' and 'fight.def' into your newly created folder. Now go back to the root folder of MUGEN, create a shortcut of the mugen.exe file, rightclick on the shortcut, click on 'properties', and add " -r custom" in the textbox after 'Target'. It should now look like this:
Code:
<...>\mugen\mugen.exe -r custom
The three .def files you've copyed into the 'custom' folder determine how the menu looks like, which resolution should be used, which characters and stages are selectable and much more, and the shortcut you have created tells MUGEN to use the settings the three .def files in your 'custom' folder defines. This is called a motif in MUGEN terms. You can create as much motifs as you like, i.e. you can create a motif that makes your MUGEN looks like a regular fighting game, and a motif to change it into a more hentai/ryona centred fighting game like i.e. ROA.
If you now execute the newly created shortcut and start an ARCADE game; you should now see two selectable characters (both named KungFuMan) and 58 free slots; if you see only 10 free slots you've either not started MUGEN with your created shortcut or have not copyed the 'system.def' file from the 'big' folder, but the one in the 'data' folder into your custom folder; adjust that if necessary.
Go back to the main menu (ESC), go to OPTIONS, then INPUT CONFIG and adjust the controls to your likings. After that save your configuration (it's also under OPTIONS).

Add new characters and stages

Below you'll find a character and a stage I've choosen totally randomly for demonstration purpose only:
Kung Fu Girl
RyuHD_stage
To add a new character to MUGEN you need to copy the folder with the char into the 'chars' folder in your MUGEN folder, open the select.def file in the 'custom' folder (you can open .def files with a simple text editor), search for "[characters]" and follow the instructions you'll find beneath that line.
Note: If you're using this method the .def file of a character must have exactly the same name as the folder it is in; i.e. if the .def file is named kfm.def, the folder's name must be kfm. You can freely change the name of the .def file of the character, it changes nothing for the character ingame.

To add new stages to MUGEN you need to copy the stage into the 'stages' folder in your MUGEN folder, open the select.def file in the 'custom' folder, search for "[extrastages]" and follow the instructions you'll find beneath that line.

You can also save characters and stages in subfolders of the 'chars'/'stages' folder, but for characters you need to specify the .def file. I.e. you've moved kfm into the subfolder 'original_chars', then your entry in the select.def file must read:
Code:
original_chars/kfm/kfm.def

Good hunting!

These both sides are properly the best adresses to find new normal content for your MUGEN.

Elecbyte Forum - Index
M.U.G.E.N Wiki
RandomSelect - Index
Beside the two sides mentioned above, these sides are a good place to search for help in case you're trying to create your own content.

Mugen-Hentai ::
mugen-h-english.forumotion .com (sadly all English Hentai Mugen forums I've found are gone now)
The first one is a spanish MUGEN hentai forum. Because there was a great number of english speaking user in this forum an english equivalent (the second link) was created around New Year 2010; it's not as active as the spanish one, so you want to drop by there from time to time, too.
If you are looking for hentai content or searching for help to create hentai content yourself these are the best places for that I've found so far.

http:// ib.rotbrc.com/rmugen/2.html (The Mugen Imageboard has been closed and reopened often but as of now I don't know of any active one)
The MUGEN imageboard, now split into two parts. The first one is to share your work, i.e. sprites, the second one is for requests. The original MUGEN imageboard had to be closed due to massive spam, so currently there isn't that much activity there yet.
Note: It seems that the imageboard has been taken off again due to spamming, I don't know if it's permanent this time.

If you've seen a video with a char you want to have searching for it's name here might be a way to find it (disable scripts to download without the enips downloader).

Characters
Note: Before you can add characters you have to download the engine first; for a link look at the first post.

Females
Since female ryona/rapist characters are rare and hard to find I've uploaded every one that I've found and that isn't completely awful in my folder.

4shared - My 4shared - shared folder - free file sharing and storage (had to delete most of the links because they were no longer active)
Links to warehouses that contain (among others) Mugen hentai chars.
Warning: As always when you're looking for porn on the internet keep your guard up; I doubt that any of the linked warehouses contain malware, but let your Anti-Vir program scan any file you downloaded from there just to be save.

Mugen-Hentai :: Portal de Mugen-Hentai
On the front page you'll find links to both rapists characters and suitable vicitms.

i got 1078 characters in my mugen, i love it... my favorite character is Lucy from Elfen Lied... i can't really post the character anywhere because i need to ask permission... but under a different name i helped make her... if anyone wants to do a little digging on my Personal Life... there are hints everywhere that leads to who i am... lol

just google Lucy Diclonius MUGEN if you want her... she is a beast!!!

i also made a few backgrounds that are pretty cool...

i got rid of my sexual characters... they kind of ruin the game... i think it's hard to get good Ryona from 2D sprites that are made to not bleed or not get damaged... if i knew how to use Fighter Maker i would add some gore to the females and add some more pain but i suck at FM

PS i had mugen for like 5 years with like 20 characters, i actually started collecting characters 2 years ago when i started working on Lucy... now i have too many...

here is Lucy with her "Strikers" Nana And Chief Kurama

yea... i usually leave those characters but it's on my Flashdrive as a mobile game to play anywhere anytime on any computer... i didn't want someone to play as that different sexual character, you know... a while ago i thought it was cool to randomly fight one of those characters but i didn't like friends choosing them... it's weird...

Well if your friends don't know how to configurate MUGEN you can simply create two rosters/motifs, one with and one without the sexual characters, and create only a shortcut for the one without them. If you want to use sexual characters again you simply have to create a shortcut for the roster that features them.

Btw: Mugen 1.1 is currently in alpha phase, and it allows 24 and 32 bit pngs instead of 256 color palettes, so we'll see characters with a lot better visual quality then now when it's finally released.

Eh??
I think that might be nicer for those who capture polygon-based graphics or animated live characters to stick them into a game, but for sprite-edits isn't 256 easier?
(Also, some of the original sex-characters seem too... spammy. Edits on existing Classics FTW!)

I personally work off of the current version of the official Mugen, as it's the most familiar to me, and the HD is really nice.

An Example of the HD image:
4920551725_1a0ac15d6a_b.jpg

(Still made smaller because of Yahoo!'s Flickr...grrr...)

It will also make characters like Guilty Gear and (soon to be) SF2HD characters look the way they should be, and not forced to be pixeled as it was in the older Mugens.

For all your English Hentai needs, I recommend the kind of newly made English Hentai Mugen forum:
http://mugen-h-english.forumotion.com/forum.htm

I also recommend this blog, with the best link page for all your dirty Mugen stuff:
http://alcnx.blogspot.com/

On that note, how do you guys customize your Mugen? I really like to keep my stuff organized, so that there is a folder for Gundam style characters, or Capcom vs SNK style characters. It's abit more work, but it makes it so much more helpful in the long run.

How my select.def often looks like:
Anime/Fighters/GundamNew/MERCURIUS/MERCURIUS.def, stages/Gundam/gundam_SpaceBattle.def, music=sound/Chars/Gundam/Wing_GundamBattle2.mp3

However, let's say I downloaded the Capcom vs SNK intro, and I have 20 different ones. You can make them have their own intros and endings...but it takes SO much space just to give them their Op and Ed, so I often copy their character def, put it outside their folder, and edit their def so that everything links to their folder, and the Op and Ed links to the...well, Op and Ed.

Example:
VG/CapSNK/Cap/cvsryu.def, random, music=sound/Chars/Capcom/CvS/CvS.mp3

It's abit harder on stages, though, as then I need to go and edit inside each def. for the stages in order for me to use them.

I can help people out if they want to do something like this. It's VERY time consuming, but for me, playing Mugen is almost kind of an afterthought as I personally like to make sure everyone or at least most of them have their own stages and music. It makes for a much more fun Arcade mode when friends come over and play it.

It's not a "game" per se.

Think of something like, say, "Street Fighter IV" as a car. It's got a body, doors, headlights, wheels... everything built around an engine. If you strip off the pretty graphics, you've got two stick figures jumping around a blank background. That's the "engine" of "Street Fighter IV".

Think of MUGEN as that sort of engine.

MUGEN is very customizable in that people can slap on different graphics to make players look the way they want them to look, attack the way they want them to attack, take damage the way they want them to take damage, etc.

Im just looking for a mugen game where all the chars can have sex with each other
To get that, you first have to Download MUGEN itself. This is just that stick-figure set-up I said earlier.

Now you have to find individuals who make the characters and the backgrounds and the other art. They'll have to have created a character with sex-moves (and characters with sex-damage) -- or you have to download a non-explicit character and edit them around yourself. (Add sex-moves, add sex-damage, etc.)

I've added links to sides containing many hentai related Mugen chars in the second post. The sides should be safe, but as always as you search for porn on the internet: Don't let your guard down!

There are at least three different versions of Tendril flowing around: The "original" Tendril, Tendril2, which has better compatibility with the other rapist chars, and a new version of Tendril with a few added sex attacks.
Haven't tried Mardion's link, so I don't know which version that Tendril is, but if you want to be sure to get the (at least to my knowledge) latest version of Tendril go my collection of female rapists in the second post.

Ah, I hadn't noticed Tendril was already in your post, sorry about that. I don't see the new version there, though (there's 1,2 and nopanties).

BTW, I just tried her out and she rocks. Lots and lots of great moves to be discovered. It was cool having all those extra "helpers" too , although they get annoying after a while with their numbers.
