I wasn't satisfied with the existing options for homestuck characters, so I decided to make my own. This is an ongoing project and I plan to do the alpha trolls and alpha/beta kids too.

There's a regular and human version for each, and some have variations. The human hairs are colored so the slider can affect it if desired.

• secondhuntsman hasn't been online in three months
  • you may have more luck with a Request thread
• when requesting a character (via an artist's thread or an independent request thread), you're supposed to provide Reference Images
  • that's going to be difficult because the character has had almost zero screentime
    
  • you'll probably need to rely on fanart

If you aren't familiar I'd recommend not looking it up, while still a great comic it's pretty long to read just to use a few hairs. Honestly though you could use the human hairs for all kinds of stuff

The general advice is "read the Newbie Guide." It's a good resource which will help you to understand some of the less obvious features of the game, while walking you through character-customization examples.

If you've reached this page then you should be able to left-click on any of the image thumbnails to access the fullsize image. You can then right-click on the fullsize image and choose "Save As" from the context menu. Please note that each hairstyle is represented by two images - one of which is the actual hairstyle (which looks like a weird disembodied mass of hair) while the other is an in-game preview (which shows a female body with the hair attached -- and which may also show a male body). You can look at the preview image as much as you want, but you should download only the actual hairstyle image.

Once the file has been saved to your local disk, you'll be able to activate the hairstyle in-game by clicking the "Hair ..." button on the "Modding" tab of the in-game menu. You'll then need to browse for the file until you find it (e.g. in your Downloads folder or wherever you saved it). You can also copy-paste the character code provided by secondhuntsman . Each code is hidden inside a Spoiler tag; you must paste it into the textbox on the "Modding" tab and then click the "Load" button. The code contains customization info for your chosen character. When you click Load, the game will automatically adjust the in-game girl to match (for example: it will change her skin to grey).

Of course, this kind of download-and-play approach isn't practical in the long term. SDT players will usually acquire dozens or hundreds of mods, so it's important to organize your files (and generate "Saved Characters") so that you'll be able to find and activate them easily during future sessions (instead of being forced to visit the Undertow website each time). The Newbie Guide has some useful advice and examples.

That particular design was originally drawn (in raster format) by @T0mcat. @Guyra subsequently traced it and published a colored version. At some point he created an RGB-adjustable version. I can't find the original file on the live forums, but it was included in @sby's moreClothing package collection. You can download that package and then extract the Vinyl Shirt.swf file. You don't actually need to use moreClothing, but it's a useful mod so you should consider giving it a try (especially if you're already using the SDT Loader). If you decide to install it then you should grab the latest version from sby's thread -- or just use the whole sby Loader Pack instead.

There's a similar mod named Tops - Pushed Up Top - RGB 1 Color.swf, created by ?? (the file is unsigned). It's included in the moreClothing package.

There's also a similar shirt design created by @Iago. Like the two previous files, it supports the RGB slider.

The clothes are not included here. It's possible for a charcode to include clothing information, but it gets slightly more complicated because secondhuntsman has used other SDT mods in many of his screenshots. Aradia's skirt, for example, uses this clothing mod by @Ah P -- but it also relies on the HSL-shift feature from @sby's mods (such as autoreghue and moreclothing).

If you download the moreclothing package then you'll find many of the mods that were used in the Homestuck screenshots -- such as the lifted shirts. You'll need to manually mix-and-match things in order to recreate the exact look provided by secondhuntsman ... but you might discover new combinations which you like more than these designs.
