Tattoo Assassins [Arcade]
Note : This game was never officially released.

Published : 1994
Genre : Fighting
Ryona rating : 2/5

Ryona:
  • Three female characters out of a roster of nine characters plus four bosses, one of which is a deformed female.
  • Inspired heavily by Mortal Kombat, it features digitized characters played by real actors and a lot of violence. There is blood coming out after every move that connects.
  • There are lots of post-match Fatalities in this game, but most of them are extremely obscure. Such examples include turning the opponent into a Mona Lisa painting, dropping a Delorean on their head, creating a puffy dragon who floats stationary doing nothing to the opponent, and even Nudealities. Some of the credible Fatalities include the player' tattoos coming to life (in accordance to the game's storyline) but the way they are drawn is often too cartoon-like.
  • Each character has a projectile move.
  • Each character has two grabs.

Female Characters:
  • Hannah, played by a swimsuit&calendar model, is a blonde stripper clad in black leather. Her tattoo is that of a spider which she can use to spray web on them or swing into them using a webline.
  • Maya is a tribe leader's daughter with a very long ponytail. Her tattoo is that of a tiger, which explains her striped legs. For a projectile move, she shoots a blowgun towards her opponent.
  • Karla is an Olympic ice-skater. She moves and fights through sliding her ice skates. Her tattoo is that of a rose which apparently gives her power over ice.
  • Rhina is the first sub-boss of the game - she is very tall and has a rhinoceros'horn protruding off her forehead. Her moveset is extremely limited.

Screenshots:

Note : The second set of screeshots showcases some of the few good Fatalities of the game. Be warned that, in motion, they generally either look hasty or are consisted of very few frames. The top-right image is an example of a Nudeality (in motion it's just a single frame shaking left and right accompanied by a scream).
