The first part in what might be an ongoing story (depending on whether I get around to finishing it!).

Chapter 1 - Justice from Above

He was close now. As he rode the vines and leapt from branch to branch, Tarzan knew that his prey was near. He had been tracking them for 6 days now, and in that time they had killed 11 innocent people. Their bloodlust had no specific target. No agenda. They had slaughtered anyone in their path. The first had been a group of botanists, three harmless men who were in the jungle simply to study and celebrate its beauty. Two days later an attack on a nearby village had left five dead, including two women.

The latest incident had seen the slaughter of three men and a woman bringing food and medical supplies to another of the Jungle's villages. Nothing had been taken except the lives of those wishing to help others. Tarzan had found the food and medicines left discarded by the bodies, as though to highlight the utter senselessness of the killing.

The memory of their bloodied corpses strengthened Tarzan's resolve, and he pushed himself harder. His muscled body sliced the air as swiftly as lightning, instinctively knowing when to reach for a nearby vine or to vault from the trees. Despite his great speed, Tarzan's keen eye was still able to scan the ground beneath him, picking up on minute details that allowed him to follow his target as easily as if they had left a trail of white paint behind them.

Releasing a vine at the apex of its swing, Tarzan somersaulted onto a large branch, nearly 20 feet above the base of the tree from which it grew. He crouched low, his feet gripping the branch as easily as if he were a sloth. Through the dense foliage of the jungle, he saw her.

She was not his only bounty. From the nature of the murders and clues he had pieced together over these past days tracking those responsible, Tarzan knew that there were at least five, possibly even six killers. Amazons.

Normally, the Amazons of the jungle were a peaceful race. Fierce and powerful warriors yes, but violent only when absolutely necessary. Tarzan himself was a friend to the Amazons and had fought alongside their Queen, the mighty Gabriella, on many occasions. This group, however, had turned against Gabriella's peaceful ways. For reasons Tarzan could not comprehend, they were now using their fighting skills to murder the innocent. And the Lord of the Jungle would tolerate that no longer.

From his vantage point, Tarzan could see that that the Amazon below him was alone. She was crouched alongside a river, filling skins with water. The others were presumably making camp nearby. Tarzan would not wait for her to re-join her comrades.

Descending through the branches of the trees with the natural ability of the apes that had raised him, Tarzan approached with woman in total silence. As he grew closer, he was able to see her more clearly. Like all Amazons, she was extremely athletic. The scant fur bikini she wore did little to hide her muscular frame. Long blonde hair fell past her shoulders and her face was striking, although Tarzan saw no beauty in it. She was a killer, more deserving of the description 'beast' than any of the animals with which Tarzan shared his home.

Moving with catlike grace, Tarzan slid along a branch which was barely a few feet over the spot where the woman was still on her haunches, filling another skin with the river's clear water. He was directly above her now, hidden from view by the tree's natural cover but able to watch her every move. Moving into a squatting position on the sturdy branch, Tarzan became as still as the great snake. She did not seek out her prey, but waited for it to come to her. And now Tarzan did the same.

Just a few moments later, the Amazon stood upright. As she did so, her head was now just a few feet away from the branch on which Tarzan was poised to strike. And with the speed of the Cobra, that is exactly what he did.

Tarzan allowed his feet to slide from the branch, dropping downwards. His intention was not to hit the ground however and he reached up quickly, grabbing the branch that he had previously been standing with both hands, allowing himself to hang suspend, like a gymnast on a parallel bar. Just as he had calculated, his position put him directly in front of the stunned Amazon, her head level with his loincloth. Before she could react, Tarzan quickly clamped his legs around either side of the blonde woman's head, her face pressed tightly against his crotch. Locking his ankles, he secured the crushing scissorhold and tensed the powerful muscles in his thighs with all his mighty strength.

Instantly, he felt the woman's legs buckle beneath her as he squeezed her head between his well-developed quads. Tarzan's grip did not diminish however. He knew this was just an initial reaction to the pressure and his opponent's strength would quickly return. His prediction proved accurate when he felt the Amazon steady herself and take a firm grip on his thighs, one in each of her hands. Desperately, she tried to pull them apart, hoping to relive the crushing pressure just enough to perhaps slip her head from its captivity. Her attempt was futile though as Tarzan's legs proved immovable.

Looking down at his captive, Tarzan could see the woman's eyes. They were filled with hate, leaving him in no doubt that there could be no peaceful outcome to this encounter. Although the position of her face meant he could only see her eyes, Tarzan could feel the woman's nose and mouth against his hardening manhood. Her every breath warmed his crotch through the thin hide of his loincloth.

Turning his attention from her face, Tarzan watched keenly as she removed one of her hands from their unsuccessful attempt to pry his legs open. She reached down, whilst simultaneously lifting her leg and drew a dagger from a sheath around her calf. The weapon was small, but Tarzan was well aware that size would not limit its effectiveness, particularly in this situation. The Amazon pulled back the hand holding the knife, seemingly preparing to either slash or stab at Tarzan's legs. Neither option was acceptable to Tarzan.

In a demonstration of his enormous strength, Tarzan allowed one hand to let go of the branch that supported him. He now hung from the tree by just one arm, as his other hand quickly grasped the wrist of his Amazon foe. A brief struggle ensued as she desperately tried to force the blade towards Tarzan's sinuous thighs. The struggle ended quickly with an audible snap and a muffled scream as Tarzan broke the wrist of his attacker and the knife fell harmlessly to the jungle floor.

Resuming his grip on the branch above, Tarzan knew that he needed to finish this. There were still at least four more Amazon's nearby and he did not want to lose the element of surprise this early. Steeling himself, Tarzan increased the pressure on the scissorhold exponentially, squeezing the Amazon's head with a force comparable to a Boa Constrictor around a jungle fruit. The Amazon's eyes began to glaze over as unconsciousness beckoned. Tarzan squeezed tighter still and her pupils rolled backwards, her eyes now empty white pearls that saw nothing.

With a mighty effort, Tarzan pulled himself upwards so that his chin was now parallel with the branch that supported him. As a result, his Amazon victim was now suspended in the air, her feet a few inches from the jungle surface. Tarzan tautened the muscles in legs to their fullest capacity and listened closely to the sound coming from between his thighs. The Amazon's breath was shallow now, almost imperceptible. He could feel moisture in his loincloth, no doubt a result of the Amazon drooling. Her breath soon became inaudible and only the occasional warming of his crotch was any indication that she was still breathing. After only a few minute more, Tarzan felt her warmth no more. She was gone.

Finally releasing his grip, the Amazon's body slumped to the Jungle foliage below. Tarzan dropped down alongside her. His face betrayed no triumph or pleasure. This was simply justice. Leaving her body for the jungle to claim, Tarzan walked towards the river where he had first seen the Amazon. Squatting down, he scooped up handfuls of mud from the bank and began applying it to his body and face. He removed his loincloth and cast it aside. In truth, it was an affectation he wore only to protect the modesty of those from beyond the jungle.

But now he was not a man. He was the hunter. And he would find his prey.

Thanks! My intention was to write a standard non-specific Tarzan, but obviously there's no reason why you can't imagine him as anyone from the Disney version to Weissmuller!
