To everyone who struggles, this works 100%, trust me, even if this comment is old. You just need to download these files, no matter the game you want to play:
https://www.nexusmods.com/madmax/mods/56?tab=files&file_id=240

It is named perhaps for another game, than you want to play, but files are the same.

1. Download the files from the link
2. Extract it to empty folder
3. Delete .dds files in folder "modded_textures" (if there are not any files, its okay, leave it)
4. All files and both folders including original_textures and (empty) modded_textures move to folder where executable of YOUR game is -> your game directory
5. Download textures that YOU want to use in YOUR game, and move all .dds files into folder "modded_textures"
6. Launch the game and enjoy.

This worked for me instantly, for Assassin's creed Odyssey 1.5.3, after hours of dealing with terrible Resorep bullshit.

Resorep just dont work, it may work for some, but it is pretty broken. This method right here works just fine.
Doesn´t start despite installing the required versions of Java and Visual C++.
I did everything everyone instructed but still can't open Resorep.
Everyone, who cant open it, just download jarfix n it will solve everything
It works for me in 2025
Loaded up for me not sure if jarfix is neccessary but it works Win 10 Java jre1.8.0_431 and ran from extracted files Downloads\Resorep 1.7.0 US\Win 10 without cmd
Credit - Ruzik: Install Jarfix and everything will work

Make sure you don't have JDK intalled, ONLY install JRE x64. Otherwise Resorep.jar will attempt to use JDK and will fail to launch.
You can run Resorep via latest java version by this command:

java --add-opens java.base/java.lang=ALL-UNNAMED -jar resorep.jar
haven't use yet bf i get started i had issue that i cant launch the jar file even i followed the steps in right way
my nice guy name LubeMyFlaps says to download these files can fix the issue
(delete the old version of development kit and runtime environment)
this method did work well for me i hope u guys too

Java SE Runtime Environment 8u381

And

Java SE Development Kit 8u381

Also used Jar fix after downloading both of these and it seemed to fix the issue for me.
Try running the jar file via cmd as admin: 1.- Run cmd as admin. 2.- go to the directory were the resorep file is located, using cd. 3.- type: java -jar resorep.jar. 4.- It should work, it worked for me
All I get is a "no such file exception" any time I try to add a game.
this might not get answered and I'm okay with that, but i would like to address a problem I'm having, hoping someone can help. I am getting an error message reading "AccessDeniedException: dx11proxy64.dll -> C:\Programfiles (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Assassins Creed Origins The Curse Of The Pharaohs\d3d11.dll" any advice would be greatly appreciated
