Hello, to be able to download a mod it says i need to register for a free account? And i guess i do that through verifying my email, but i've tried multiple times and nothing in my inbox.

You are correct on the download requirement. Normally the verification is straightforward, but the email server isn't functioning as intended right now. Your account has now been activated.
