How to only use part of a mod? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to only use part of a mod for a character. In this case, I'm specifically trying to isolate just the tail of this mod, getting rid of the horns, ears, hooves, etc.
but it would be helpful to know for other mods as well. I wasn't able to accurately search up an answer, probably a wording issue on my part, so I'm asking it now. Thanks for any help that can be provided.
