I don't see the 3d to flash working for this kind of thing, given that the joints rely on a cell shaded style to appear seemless. Or... if you did it, the file size would be MUCH bigger as you'd need a separate animated loop for each movement (rather than just moving parts around a 2d plane).

Though it would pretty cool if SDT was done in 3d, it would a be a much bulkier (and less versatile) program, much like the links above.
