I would bet my nipples there is no form of virtual sexual entertainment that could compete with the experience of a well-modded Oblivion!

Unfortunately I don't think the human race will create anything better than Oblivion for a long time. The problem is that once people perfect Oblivion with all the updates, patches, overhauls, environmental, weather, and graphical mods, fine tuned and massive city and population expansions, violently intense reworked combat engines, survival and immersion mods, millions of different combinations of body types, looks, and personalities and sexualities automatically generated to suit your taste, love, hate, pregnancy, rape, death, life, family, society, companions, lovers, slaves, stalkers, friends and enemies.. etc etc etc.. they are done searching, for they have FOUND it, they are no longer seekers, they are GURUS of sexual ecstasy.. and are often never heard from again xD

The imagination of truly heroic people has been immortalized thanks to their bravery and hard work and contributions to the human masterpiece that is Oblivion Now.

I dare you to try to come up with something better.

Modding Oblivion (its so easy a KiTiTy can do it)

OK, this install guide might be useful: OBLIVION: install game,tools,bodies,BBB,Mod sorting and cleaning,CS-CSE, Body stretching although its very helpful as a resource, it does go in depth on how to fix problems you should never have anyway. For example, I just installed in Program Files, have never used BOSS or anything to autosort my mods, have no idea what TES4edit does, merging or cleaning mods, archive invalidation.. these are things people stress being as required things, but if you simply keep trying I think anyone can get it to work without thinking to hard :)

Don't worry if this modding Oblivion seems complicated--it is complicated, but don't worry :)

I will list mods here from time to time:
Setbody will allow you go customize body types for PC and NPC on the fly, and is best when autosetbody is configured so everyone is automatically unique. This is preferred to just getting 1 body mod such as HGEC, as its already included in setbody.

screw it, here is an oldish list of mods from Wyre Bash without mods that improve overall graphics to run on potato computers. Many mods are not listed as they do not have an esp file, or are installed through Oblivion Mod Manager or some other method that doesn't show up here.

This load order isn't the best example, check out the install guide by fejeena earlier in this post to find a better organized load order. I also recommend new players don't become infatuated with any CM Companions, as Mad Companionship Spells is a much smoother system, where you don't have to add companions, but can instead recruit any friendly person or creature as a companion.

This is also a list from before I installed Oblivion Reloaded, there are a couple bugs I want to fix before I include a list that includes it.

Skyrim.

Skyrim was made by Bethesda after Oblivion, and there are a lot of mods for it. Something you hear a lot in the Skyrim modding community is that when talking about a mod, its often compared to how close it got to being as good as Oblivion had it. Many modders never moved over from Oblivion to Skyrim, and are still making mods for Oblivion. This is because what makes Oblivion great is not the vanilla game, its the huge framework of revolutionary mods that are available for Oblivion that makes it what it is.

Maybe someday Skyrim could be better than Oblivion can be, but I've heard it said that Oblivion is easier/more flexible to work with and can do more with mods, but that might just be because many people simply haven't taken the time to work on modding Skyrim.

It's not about looks, its about the huge variety of content and the quality of that content--but from what I have seen, my Oblivion setup even looks considerably prettier than Skyrim in most aspects.

Skyrim might catch up but it seems it just doesn't have the amazing minds that worked on modding Oblivion behind it.

I agree that an appropriated modded Oblivion is one of the best games regarding sexual ryona. However saying just said is pretty much uninformative for anyone but who already knows how to appropriately mod Oblivion in that way.

You're right, I've been hesitant to mention specific mods because I guess I've always thought I could get my setup perfected then get share my dirty little jewels with people who might be interested in getting started with Oblivion modding. AFAIK there is no good up to date guide on getting started with Oblivion that includes recommendations and a technical how-to for getting the newest mods working in a way that's compatible with eachother. The OP of the LAPF thread linked above me, gregathit, has a guide somewhere that helped me get started, but some of the info is old and you will have to undo some of it to make room for newer stuff.

As you may have noticed, I'm very happy with my Oblivion setup, but it has some problems including occasional crashes to desktop, usually only when in the Imperial City. I might never completely debug this and make my Oblivion "perfect", but I'd always hoped I could before helping others get a similar Oblivion going. The crashes in Imperial City might be caused by Better Open Cities, and I will try removing Imperial City from the list of cities it mods, but I would really rather hope to find the mod thats conflicting with it and deal with that, as Better Cities (the new version has Open Cities included, so you can actually open city gates instead of a loading screen) makes a night and day difference with the beauty and the rich content packed into each city (I particularly love the transformation of Bravil, known as Blood and Mud.)

For now I will say that sorting the mods on LoversLab by popularity/votes and adding all the top mods will not leave you disappointed for sexual content, although I personally had to tone down a lot of settings, because the frequency of stalking and rape etc with default settings is simply to much for my taste, I know I'm sexy, but not everyone I see should try to rape me, lol.

I'll try to get around to including at least the mods that I think are must-have in the OP or something. Be aware that installing mods as you play can cause some problems that only starting a new game can fix, such as leaving an NPC or item in a field, then adding a mod that turns that spot into a building. I added stuff as I went and its not the end of the world, but some things don't work on my older characters that do work on newer ones.

Is there anything in Oblivion that lives up to the Devious Devices mods in Skyrim? The only one I remember really liking in Oblivion was the Chain Beasts mod...

I'm running oblivion 1.2.0.416 (Shivering Isles)+Official DLCs
I've downloaded:
-Oblivion 1_2_416 English-11364.zip no need for that, i guess
-Unofficial Oblivion Patch-5296-3-5-3b.7z
-Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch-10739-1-5-7.7z
-Unofficial Oblivion DLC Patches-9969-22.7z

The problem starts when it says to stract Unofficial Oblivion Patch in the Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\ folder.
My installation path is follow : C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Oblivion\Data (OblivionLauncher is in \oblivion)
Putting the patch inside \Oblivion leaves one texture folder in \oblivion and another in \oblivion\Data

My guess would be extracting everything inside \Data, but the site says :
1.) Extract Unofficial Oblivion Patch.7z into your Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\ folder.

There is no specific information on how to patch the game. Which folder goes where. And the amount of things to read is overwhelming.

Depends.
Do you own Skyrim? Then do not bother with Oblivion and instead mod Skyrim.
Do you have little interest in sexual ryona (rape, stalking, becoming a sex slave, etc.)? Then your time is imo better spend on a fighter or wrestling game.

Regarding on how to set it up:
Use a mod manager to install your mods. I recommend Wrye Bash; it's a little harder to learn than OBMM but much more powerful.
Iirc the only you'll will install without a mod manager is OBSE, so start with that.

Read the descriptions of the mods you want to install; e.g. the description of Official Oblivion 12416 Patch states "If you have the Shivering Isles expansion pack, just use the Shivering Isles patch.", but you seem to have downloaded the patch for vanilla Oblivion.

Another useful tool to have is TES4Edit. Tutorial.

I found the guide that I thought gregathit wrote, guess I was wrong. I don't recommend just using all the mods listed here, as many are outdated or irrelevant. The general concepts are the mostly same though, I found this useful when starting out: Installation Guide with Lovers, MBP and Wyre with Bashed Patch

Since patches are fixes, and fixes are supposed to be permanent, i did it manually.
Now i will start downloading mods. i didn't yet because i was enjoying the game play as the game comes in order to know how the game behave itself.

This image shows those boxes to check. (That is one poor way to deal with patches and expansions, {for MODs it is a god way to simplify, But for fixes, OMG } it's like the creators of the game cannot deal with their own organization and cod system problems and they shove it to the consumer. The best fixes came from UNOFFICIAL sources, so enough said. But the game is quite good.)
So, what is the correct way to deal with those boxes? should i mark just the last installed? i'm just guessing, but marking several, will probable bug the hell out of the game. And yet, when i start to load MODs, more boxes will appear. So, just mark the boxes related to the MOD? >or< the MOD+related expansion?

Basically...If i gonna play through Unofficial
Shivering isles, mark only MasterFile+Shivering isles >or< Unofficial Oblivion patch is also to be marked?

Almost forgot.
Is there any way to backup the SAVE?
Like a save file that you can put into a newly installed game and use your old char.

The DLC... files and Knights are the addons or official DLCs. In said window you select which .esm and .esp files Oblivion should load on its next start. If you want to use a patch you also have to mark it, otherwise any changes said patch makes will not be loaded.

Your save files will be somewhere on your C:\ drive, e.g. User\Own Documents\Games\Oblivion\saves.
