It looks promising. I hope Sonya still has her MK vs DC attire, I enjoyed it a lot. the torn up clothing was also great.

I'm cautiously optimistic; the character models have never really been that good, especially when compared to other fighting games, and what bothered me most was the ugly animations.
Personally, I hope they include a CAC system once more, so I can create my own lady to beat on... though I doubt they will somehow. Maybe I should just hope for some character customization ala Tekken.

From a gameplay perspective I like the new fighting dynamic, seems to be faster and more interesting.

i will see how the game looks like and from that deciding to buy the game or not. from the trailer, it seems it just a retelling of mk2 in the storyline but new fatalities might worth of it.

I remember back when Mass Effect came out, all the moms were up in arms about the 15 seconds or so of side nudity, and called it a "porn" game. I have to wonder, after seeing those brutal and almost guro-like moves, what the hell are they gonna say about *that*? I mean, do you want your child to learn about love between two people, or mutilating people?

Just a thought, game looks awesome, but, I go with fighting games like water with electricity.

Actually, from what I recall, it was a bullshit Fox NEWS broadcast with an ill informed writer who saw a glimpse of the sex scene and believed Mass Effect was a full on sex simulator.
I believe she even said something to the effect of "you can change all details of the characters, from a woman's three sizes to the position she's in." ... yeah, who needs to do things like research these days anyway?
Violence is apparently OK, but nudity or sex!? MADNESS! WE can't have our children knowing about safe sex, reproduction, or foolish things like "love"!

Anyway, back on subject; from what I hear this technically *is* Mortal Kombat 2, and the series is being rebooted.
Rumor has it Raiden from MK: Armageddon sent a message to Raiden of MK2 and changed the timeline erasing all events up till the new 'present' which would make sense, considering the crap sack world that would have followed at the end of MK:A, even Raiden half evil would want to change the past to make the future better... also considering that because of all the power in one place the fabric of the universe was tearing apart, it's not a stretch to say a time vortex appeared and allowed communication.

Listen to me rambling on again.
Yeah, this game still looks pretty interesting so far, really hoping they include more female characters though, or still add a Create a Character, though at this point I seriously doubt they'd do that.

The girls look so hot, even Sindel and Sheeva, lol. And the detail on their bare midriffs, the boob physics, the pretty eyes, everything about the character design is top-notch. Some great fatalities to perform on them too. I really like the damage recog. feature, because it gets them all bruised and bloodied up which makes it look like they've taken a beating. One of my favorite moments: Using Sheeva to pick up Kitana and belly punch her twice

I saw a few videos by SplitRyona of MK9 before playing the game and I gotta say, some of those fatalities made me queasy. Most of the X-ray moves should be fatalities. How can you live through 4 stab wounds all the way through your head, two of them through your eye sockets, and get back up a few seconds later? Games these days. :p

If guro is your thing, I think MK9 is probably your dream game. I'm really not a fan of it but I thought it was still enjoyable. I played through story mode and it was actually pretty fun. You start out as Sonya and after every few matches you will end up playing as one of the "Earthrealm" defenders. There are cool cutscene transitions between the characters and locations (relative to other fighting games). Shao Khan can suck a dick.
