This is a loader pack with an automated audio dialogue that plays like a movie.
There may be other dialogues in the future if I get around to it.
It is designed to be an automated audio dialogue with lots of talking and internal monologue. So it's a bit of a slow burn and you're just watching with no interaction. Kinda of like a visual novel movie, but in SDT and with sound. The audio files were all generated with a free online TTS generator(aside from a couple sounds that were ripped from a video). I wasn't able to figure out a strong enough visual solution to differentiate between spoken dialogue and internal monologue, so I ended up using separate voices. I think the effect worked pretty good. I've updated many of the sound files and they are pretty good now. It's fairly time consuming generating sound files that sound this good in TTS generators right now. Lots of repetition one line at a time trying to get tone and inflection right. I'm sure this will get better over time as these LLMs develop.
The pack is a slightly modified version of sby's latest loader. Big shout out to him for creating an awesome loader pack and to anyone on here and the discord who helped my dumb ass try to figure things out. I've got no problem with constructive criticism, or if anyone wants to play with it and improve things. Also, please let me know if you're having any problems with playing the dialogue.
To use, just unzip the file. Click the play SDT Loader Flash10 shortcut. Once you've started the loader for the first time, go into the options tab, and turn off spit, and all the sounds except for throat. (It plays much better with these settings off due to all the audio files being played and effects used in the dialogue.) Go fullscreen, open the Naughty Neighbor character file under the scene tab, move the mouse pointer all the way to the left side of the screen and halfway up, and enjoy the movie.
FPS has been capped at 30 to hopefully eliminate any playback issues and make the automated scenes look consistent for everyone. Maybe I'm crazy. But to me, higher FPS in this game doesn't translate to a better visual experience. It just makes things look choppy and less lifelike. 30FPS seems like the sweet spot to me.
It's an auto dialogue and can be finicky. Any changes to any of the settings could break the dialogue. If you can't maintain at least 20fps, the dialogue might hang up in a couple spots. If you can maintain at least 20fps and don't mess with the settings, it should work okay. At least in my testing.
IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES WITH PLAYBACK OF THE DIALOGUE, HIT THE ESCAPE BUTTON AND WATCH YOUR FPS. IF YOUR CPU IS STRUGGLING TO MAINTAIN AT LEAST 20FPS, TRY LOWERING THE QUALITY SETTINGS.
